A Former Manager At The Russian "Troll Factory" Is Now Living In The US, Report Says

A former manager of the Internet Research Agency, the Russian “troll factory” and propaganda operation accused of meddling in the 2016 election, has lived in the United States for the past two and a half months, according to a Russian news outlet.

Agata Burdonova, 31, was an English-language specialist who worked as a manager at the IRA, according to TV Rain, an independent Russian news agency that has broken a number of stories about the Internet Research Agency. She moved to Bellevue, Washington, on Dec. 7, and has thoroughly documented her move on her social media accounts. She has posted pictures of her boarding pass and Russian passport, a selfie with her husband at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and photos of Seattle’s Space Needle, a suburban American neighborhood, and several Washington parks.

TV Rain said she denied that she had worked for the Internet Research Agency and refused to comment on her move to the United States. She did not immediately respond to questions sent by BuzzFeed News to her accounts on Facebook and on a similar Russian social media platform, VK.

Burdonova is not among the 13 Russians that the Department of Justice’s special counsel has accused of violating a series of US laws in connection to the 2016 election. According to IRA documents obtained by the special counsel, one of the IRA’s stated objectives was to conduct “information warfare against the United States of America.”

Her former coworkers told TV Rain that Burdonova worked under Katarina Aistova, who was interviewed by the New York Times about the IRA in 2015 before she became the head of its media department. Burdonova posted a picture of herself with Aistova on Facebook and on VK and said she’d had a farewell party as she prepared to fly to the other side of the world.

Obviously this article is very slanted and is not particularly favorable to anybody, but it paints one corner of the painting of Russian interference.

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

even academics buy into the fallacy that the FBI didn't care about the Russia thing until the dossier? That's been proven to be false. They've been following Carter Page since 2013 because of his ties to known Russian spies, one of which was convicted in the US and spent some time in prison.

Putin speech adds to freeze in U.S.-Russia relations

“The tension level is high, higher now than it was several months ago, in part because the Russians have gotten past the phase where they thought with President Trump they would be able to move the relationship in a different direction,” said Thomas Graham, senior director for Russia on the George W. Bush National Security Council staff and now managing director at Kissinger Associates Inc.

“This is qualitatively worse than any post-Cold War period,” Graham said.

Trump appears to be the only senior member of his administration who still believes in a thaw. . . . .

But as he has failed to move relations forward, “the Russians basically see the Trump administration as a lost cause,” said Andrew Weiss, who held senior Russia policy positions during both the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations and is now vice president for studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
    lol at stupid Russians.

U.S. defense officials have consistently cited Russia as the most significant strategic threat to the United States, and the primary reason to build up its defense budget.

Gen. John Hyten, who leads U.S. Strategic Command, said in a speech Wednesday that Russia poses “the only existential threat to the country.”

So what is being awake and not paying attention to the switch on Russia called? By the way, what was Trump's response to the cute graphic Putin put out there yesterday showing missiles flying to Florida? He couldn't even come up with his own video game looking thing, or not even a funny joke or anything? Oh yeah, he announced trade wars. Nice.

Whatever, I'm sure what a past president said or did 8 years ago is more relevant.

Ted, you should try to make a run at Sarah Huckleberry Sanders' job. You're much better at it.

Oh you mean Putin announcing that he has missiles that can't be tracked? We had that technology for some time (not to mention those tomahawk cruise missiles that come in low). The Ruskies are just catching up. Time to throw another trillion on the defense budget "fire".

Anyone catch the Megyn Kelly's interview with Putin?

I didn't see much - but the bit I caught I thought was interesting. She asked him something about his announcement yesterday kicking off a new cold war style arms race.

Putin's answer was: "If you were to speak about arms race, then an arms race began at exactly the time and moment when the U.S. opted out of the anti-ballistic missile treaty."

So - we've apparently been in an arms race with Russia since Dec 2001?

From Russia's point of view this kind of makes sense. I always thought George W pushed it way too hard to put missiles in E. Europe. From the fall of the Soviet Union until that point I think the relationship was workable. At the time there really wasn't that compelling of a reason to put ABMs there. Bush kept saying it was for terrorism, but it's not like Bin Laden had missiles in his back yard to fling at Poland.

Former Trump Adviser Sam Nunberg Said Putin Is "Taking Advantage" Of The President
Nunberg, who was grilled by Robert Mueller's investigators on Friday, said the probe into the Trump campaign is not a witch hunt: "There’s a lot there there, and that’s a sad truth."

Donald Trump's former aide Sam Nunberg believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "taking advantage" of the US president and that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation is not without cause.

Nunberg made the comments in an interview recorded hours after testifying on Friday before the grand jury in Mueller's probe into possible Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Nunberg, who was fired from Trump's campaign in August 2015 over racist Facebook messages, said Putin "wanted Donald Trump to win."

"I think Vladimir Putin, if you look at it objectively, is really taking advantage of the president," he said.

But the Nunes clown committee just told us not only was there no collusion, but Russia didn't even try to influence the election! Woohoo!

The funny thing about the surprise announcement was that they couldn't just say they didn't find evidence of collusion. Ok, fine. But then they have to take it even further and take it to the ridiculous and say the Russians didn't even try to do anything. The evidence says anything but. That addition has Trump's fingerprints all over it, and Nunes proves again to be nothing but an embarrassing joke.

What the hell is Mueller waiting for?... He needs to drop that "mountain of evidence" he has on Trump's collusion with the Ruskies now before he is shitcan. Come on Mueller, blow up the GOP now like Clinton has done with the DNC/Dems. Death to the GOP and Dem parties!

I doubt he’ll fire Mueller, especially with so many republicans being openly against such a move. Trey Gowdy said it best when he told Trump that if he is innocent, he should act like it.

some analysts think Sessions firing McCabe is actually his way of trying to prevent Mueller's firing. But I don't think Trump is going to listen to anyone who tells him anything like what Gowdy did.

He can’t do that without deeply damaging the country. He’s close to doing irreparable harm. Somehow his friends in the party have painted the investigation as a giant liberal conspiracy forgetting the fact that Comey, Rosenstein, McCabe, and Mueller are republicans. Trump is picking cabinet choices because they do well on Fux News. Meanwhile he has literally been purging our diplomatic corps based on policital loyalties.

The fact they are all republicans explains why they saved the Weiner laptop memo to congress until just before the election rather than doing it when they first knew (a month before). We can thank these republicans for sending the final torpedo into the U.S. Hillary campaign, IMHO. That was far more damaging than any torpedo fired by the Russian hackers, given the great lack of evidence of anything significant we have seen to date. Oh wait... now Hillary is blaming the people living in "backward" states and their dumbass wives that can't think for themselves, right?

I didn't know that Zuckerberg was a russian hacker....

Facebook has suspended the account of the whistleblower who exposed Cambridge Analytica

Tech hath no fury like a multi-billion dollar social media giant scorned.

In the latest turn of the developing scandal around how Facebook's user data wound up in the hands of Cambridge Analytica -- for use in the in development in psychographic profiles that may or may not have played a part in the election victory of Donald Trump -- the company has taken the unusual step of suspending the account of the whistleblower who helped expose the issues.
    [...]
The goal, as The Guardian reported, was to combine social media's reach with big data analytical tools to create psychographic profiles that could then be manipulated in what Bannon and Cambridge Analytica investor Robert Mercer allegedly referred to as a military-style psychological operations campaign -- targeting U.S. voters.
    [...]
Not cool, Facebook. Not cool at all.
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/facebook-...221429183.html

In other news, the over-hyped FaceBook stock is in a free-fall: https://www.thestreet.com/story/1452...-facebook.html Suck it, Suckerberg.

Say it isn't so... It looks like Obama was colluding with big russian data as well:

How Obama’s Team Used Big Data to Rally Voters

How President Obama’s campaign used big data to rally individual voters.

Two years after Barack Obama’s election as president, Democrats suffered their worst defeat in decades. The congressional majorities that had given Obama his legislative successes, reforming the health-insurance and financial markets, were swept away in the midterm elections; control of the House flipped and the Democrats’ lead in the Senate shrank to an ungovernably slim margin. Pundits struggled to explain the rise of the Tea Party. Voters’ disappointment with the Obama agenda was evident as independents broke right and Democrats stayed home. In 2010, the Democratic National Committee failed its first test of the Obama era: it had not kept the Obama coalition together.

But for Democrats, there was bleak consolation in all this: Dan Wagner had seen it coming. When Wagner was hired as the DNC’s targeting director, in January of 2009, he became responsible for collecting voter information and analyzing it to help the committee approach individual voters by direct mail and phone. But he appreciated that the raw material he was feeding into his statistical models amounted to a series of surveys on voters’ attitudes and preferences. He asked the DNC’s technology department to develop software that could turn that information into tables, and he called the result Survey Manager.
