There is going to be hell to pay for this stupid Mueller undertaking. And history will not look kindly on the whole stupid thing. Yes, not very eloquent, but stupid is a good word for it. Now the democrats have made it more likely Trump will be re-elected. He's going to beat them bloody with the Mueller Report, call them unfair and the whole thing a witch hunt. In a way he's right. It's all been about politics.

And it's not like many of us couldn't see this coming. Whatever the American electorate things of Trump, this Mueller thing isn't going to gain Democrats votes.

On the core issue of a Trump-Russia conspiracy, Mueller is unambiguous:

"The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities."

Mueller's conclusion that there is no evidence of a Trump-Russia conspiracy should humiliate you (and BlueK and Commando and ...) having peddled it for 2+ years.

However, your response above does not telegraph any sort of humility or integrity... just own up to being wrong, ask our forgiveness (we will give it), and move on.

Assuming the report doesn't implicate Trump (although the fact there are apparently no additional indictments doesn't mean exoneration), this underscores the stupidity of Trump's approach. Rather than spend two years screaming "witch hunt!" and denigrating Mueller, probably as solid a public servant as there is, Trump should have simply denied wrongdoing once and let the system run its course. But his schtick is centered on tearing down established norms and diminishing faith in our system--a successful strategy short-term, but ultimately to the country's detriment.

The problem with this approach is Trump probably knew they wouldn't find anything to corroborate collusion with Russia, but he probably did know that enough of his buddies had shady business dealings that some people were going to get in trouble if the investigation continued.

So all of his cries about ending the investigation weren't about trying to avoid them finding Russian collusion. They were more about not having more of his buddies like Manafort found to have broken other random laws at other random times completely unrelated to anything Russia collusion related.
