I will give Trump one thing, he accomplished a nearly impossible feat...giving credibility to Lavar Ball Sr.

Scary. Don't know how much of this is hyperbole. The Washington Post doesn't generally succumb to such thinking. Scary.

‘Pure madness’: Dark days inside the White House as Trump shocks and rages

Inside the White House, aides over the past week have described an air of anxiety and volatility — with an uncontrollable commander in chief at its center.

These are the darkest days in at least half a year, they say, and they worry just how much farther President Trump and his administration may plunge into unrest and malaise before they start to recover. As one official put it: “We haven’t bottomed out.”

    . . . . .

Some of Trump’s advisers say the president is not all doom and gloom, however. He has been pleased with the news coverage of his role in the gun debate and lighthearted moments have leavened his days, such as a recent huddle with staff to prepare his comedic routine for the Gridiron, a Saturday night dinner with Washington officials and journalists.

Still, Trump’s friends are increasingly concerned about his well-being, worried that the president’s obsession with cable commentary and perceived slights is taking a toll on the 71-year-old. “Pure madness,” lamented one exasperated ally.

Retired four-star Army general Barry McCaffrey said the American people — and Congress especially — should be alarmed.

“I think the president is starting to wobble in his emotional stability and this is not going to end well,” McCaffrey said. “Trump’s judgment is fundamentally flawed, and the more pressure put on him and the more isolated he becomes, I think, his ability to do harm is going to increase.”

This portrait of Trump at a moment of crisis just over a year after taking office is based on interviews with 22 White House officials, friends and advisers to the president and other administration allies, most of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to candidly discuss Trump’s state of mind.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I'm pretty sure that amendment will be overturned before the 2nd amendment. So don't worry franK.

It's very hard to tell the difference between what Hamilton wanted and a king. Specifically, the English king. And he was unapologetic about it.

Yeah, he didn't have much faith in common folk, in spite of his humble origins. It was nice to have Madison and Jefferson to balance Washington and Hamilton. Both groups had faults and errors in their thinking and in the end I think we managed to get the best of both.

Yeah, I don't think he was really joking. It's typical Trump political double entendre. He's joking if there is no way for him to get away with it. He's serious if he can.

I think Trump says a TON of stuff (really - almost everything he says, tweets, etc) without really thinking about what he's saying. In that way, he isn't much of a politician - who tend to have their stuff scripted to make sure they don't say the same number of dumb things.

I don't know how serious he is - but I put this in the same realm of another recent comment in which he said that the government should just take people's guns without due process. Some part of him is probably somewhat serious - but there's no way he's actually thought through the ramifications. I'm guessing he's more thinking out loud, than anything.

Which gives us some insight to his thoughts - for better or worse.

I think he’s halfway serious. Remember he said a lot of crazy shit on the campaign that people just dismissed as being him talking out of his ass but then he turned around and tried to implement it.

I think that he's often serious - but still believe that he hasn't really thought through the ramifications of whatever it is he's spouting off about.

He never thinks through ramifications. The sad thing is it shouldn't be too much to expect a president to think through what he says before saying it or acts on it. But I'm sure that's harder for someone who has no foundational set of values. I don't care if he's like that in his private life or as a reality TV star, but to me it matters if he's in a position of real power.

    He is just sooooo stupid.

Corruption inquiry follows Netanyahu to Washington, clouding White House meeting

The relocated embassy Trump would inaugurate is actually a refitted office that will serve as the vanguard U.S. diplomatic headquarters until a permanent structure is built years from now.

Trump boasted Monday that he’s building it for a mere $250,000, instead of what he said was a $1 billion government “order.”

He appeared to be referring only to the initial office. The permanent structure is estimated to take roughly a decade to be built and could easily cost $1 billion.

Michael Cohen's 130K transfer to porn star's lawyer was flagged as suspicious and reported to Treasury. And he allegedly complained right before the election that Trump hadn't refunded him.

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-l...sla=y&mod=e2tw

I am shocked, shocked that Trump may actually have directed his personal lawyer to pony up hush money to a porn star mere days before the election.

Trump's speech at the recent Gridiron dinner was surprisingly funny. I'm sure he didn't write a single joke himself, but I have to give him credit for at least delivering the self-effacing one-liners.

“I was very excited to receive this invitation and ruin your evening in person. That’s why I accepted.”

    – On his son-in-law, Jared Kushner: “We were late tonight because Jared could not get through security.”

    – On attorney general Jeff Sessions: “I offered him a ride over and he recused himself. What are you going to do?”

    – On vice-president Mike Pence: “I really am proud to call him the apprentice. But lately he’s showing a particularly keen interest in the news these days. He is asking ‘has he been impeached yet?’ I don’t like that.”

“So many people have been leaving the White House. It’s invigorating since you want turnover. I like chaos. It really is good,” he said. “Who’s going to be the next to leave? [Trump adviser] Steve Miller or Melania?”

“I won’t rule out direct talks with Kim Jong-un. I just won’t.” He added: “As far as the risk of dealing with a madman is concerned, that’s his problem, not mine.”

President Trump incorrectly described a phone call he had with South Korean President Moon Jae-in as being with someone from North Korea, a National Security Council official said Monday.

While discussing North Korea on Saturday, Trump said "they, by the way, called up a couple of days ago. 'We would like to talk.' And I said, 'So would we, but you have to de-nuke, you have to de-nuke.'" In reality, the call on March 1 was with Moon, the official told South Korea's Yonhap News Agency. "President Trump did not have a call with the North Koreans," the official confirmed. The leaders did talk about North Korea, and Moon told Trump about the envoy he was sending to Pyongyang to meet with Kim Jong Un.
