Dems don't need Texas to win. However, if the dems turn Texas blue, republicans are done for forever.

P.S. it’s racist of the dem candidates to disparage the legacy of the first black president.

If its Trump versus one of them, I'd have to think the lane for a 3rd party or independent candidate would be wider than it ever has been before. If such a candidate couldn't at least gain some traction in that scenario, it will never happen.

          • I wish Andrew Yang could get some more attention. If Tulsi's take down of Harris sticks, she will have done everyone a huge favor.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Yeah. Last election would have been the prime scenario for a 3rd party candidate to do well. Unless the process changes significantly, we won't see a 3rd party president anytime soon.

We’d need a sensible 3rd party candidate. Libertarians (sorry BlueK and other Libartarians)aren’t any more pragmatic or sensible than the Socialist Greens. They are principled but not ready for prime time. McMullin would have been great, which is one reason I voted for him.

Probably true. We can hope though.

I voted for McMullin too, but he wasn't a great option. It would take someone like Mitt, who has impeccable credentials and a lot of credibility, to even have a hope of pulling it off. Mitt is damaged goods at this point, and too old, so it shouldn't be him. But someone in that vein might at least force the election to the House. Not that that would help, given it is currently in the control of Democrats.

Andrew's takedown of the media for only talking about his lack of a tie was strong. The media, of course, have had little comment on how vacuous and superficial they are.

Andrew Yang, what is there not to love? I have always said that ties kill brain cells. Universal Basic Income, it worked so well for Finland but I could use $1000 bucks more a month. I don't know why he wants to stop at a $1000, however. Let's make it $10,000! As for those robots, yes, we need to kill them before they become self aware and kill us (think Skynet). And we need to censor the press!

That Millie Weaver video is bogus. He didn't answer any of those questions she was throwing out and she was jumping to conclusions left and right.

Andrew Yang actually has some pretty good ideas if you listen to what HE has to say. I still have him on the list of people who should drop out right away, though.

The government censoring the press in any form is a slippery slope even it is under the flag "we just are protecting the [stupid] american people". Just look what happened to Joseph Smith Jr when he decided to censor the press! It didn't end good for him.

Hey, I would like to get a monthly check from the government, however. That would just help me decide to retire early and move money into tax free investments (and offshore). He seriously needs to consider bumping that up to $10,000/mo though. $1000/mo won't buy much especially after the extra money that everyone will be getting inflates everything.

                              • Yang has some of the worst policies out of them all. Universal basic income being the far worst. He’s not a serious candidate, thank god.
