If they did, they were escorted by school security to an indoor auditorium where they milled around for 17 minutes. If they opted out, they remained in class where they milled around for 17 minutes waiting for the other students to return. For kids that were at lunch, another 17-minute protest session was scheduled for 2nd lunch period.

Even the student protests are snowflakish. No risk, no passion, just a mild interest in the change in routine.
It’s almost like it’s been organized by the school. Real protesters would refuse to be shepherded into the auditorium.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

They did the same thing at Marley's school. I told her to walk outside anyway if she wanted to, that she wouldn't get in trouble with us so long as she wasn't verbally disrespectful. Her response, "I'm trying to get into the Governor's School, remember? If I get suspended, that dream is gone."

      Smart kid.

      • HA! Apparently, Jack walked out today. The cowardly lion (you'll get this nickname if you've ever met him) did something brave! I'm kind of shocked.

            • Driving through the Navajo Reservation yesterday the Red Mesa High School Redskins made me think of how some of the trigger warning people would respond to that.

Differently for a Native high school than an NFL team.

I think you are underestimating their ability to tell people what should and shouldn’t offend them.

She is a clown. Her 15 minutes will be over soon.

                          • Together we wept.
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

                              That is incredible.

Apparently this is the Cry Closet Creator:

This person's name is Nemo. I use the term "person" because, well....
