I am tired of the discrimination against Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the State of Utah. When will The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ever be treated equally here?
The crux of what has traumatized us about CUF/CG is that we thought they were our friends. And their identity as BYU fans turned out to be the most important thing to them. What empty lives! What a damning indictment of the LDS Church!

IMO, it's more enjoyable being a member of the church living outside of Utah. I wouldn't call it discrimination per se, but I'm much happier being away from all the petty nonsense that goes back and forth among active LDS, non-active LDS and non-LDS.

Almost unimaginably, the U. made itself look worse in ‘Dateline’ report about McCluskey murder.

“There are no words to express how sorry I am at the loss of this precious child. No words,” said Barbara Hancock Snyder. “There’s nothing I can say to apologize significantly — to have meaning. But we are truly sorry.”

A heartfelt apology, which some have argued has been lacking in the U.’s response.
Unfortunately, Snyder didn’t stop there.Dabbing at her eye with a tissue and speaking with great emotion, she added, “I wish people could know how hard it’s been.” As in — how hard it’s been on the staff at the University of Utah.

It’s hard to imagine a worse response.

It's funny how a simple wardrobe choice like wearing a BYU shirt makes me a magnet for unsolicited rudeness from random Ute fans. Going through security at the airport in New Orleans, and I get berated for being a BYU fan. And then under his breath, "we'll make it ten in a row..."

So trying to elevate the discussion I ask, "are you coming down to the game?" "No, but I did have season tickets to all the home games..." Ok, whatever tough guy.

I always just say I'm sorry you didn't get into BYU. That usually shuts them up. Except one guy who said he was accepted but went to Utah because his whole family went there. I told him I was sorry his whole family is stupid.

I don't berate America's service members. I spend my energy on berating children, pregnant women, and people in wheelchairs.

You give all Utes something to aspire to.

I am hoping that BYU wins this year. This is just getting way too boring. I can't even get excited for the rivalry anymore. So perfunctory.

I didn't grow up immersed in the rivalry. Until I was 16, I probably only watched five BYU games, and my two years in Provo is the extent of my time lived in Utah.

But Twitter and satellite/cable have made the world of college sports much more accessible, and the rivalry is wearing me out.

Maybe it's just the whole 8-in-a-row thing, but I find myself wanting to throat punch both fan bases this summer.

Once BYU gets a win and ends the streak, I think the puckered asses of both fan bases will relax a bit. There is just so much at stake for both sides right now. BYU fans want the streak to end, Utah fans want it to continue and throw it in BYU fan faces. But I agree that both fan bases are insufferable right now. I work with a bunch of Ute fans. Almost to a person, they see no scenario where BYU wins. To them, its a sure thing. After 8 in a row I don't blame them but it would be nice to get the win on the year they are getting all the national press hype.

    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

    I disagree with both statements.

The current state of the rivalry is that the two teams are scheduled to play in less than a month.

Maybe you are talking about the past state of the rivalry? Nobody really give a shit about that, funk.

And the real BYU has not played the rivalry game since Max Hall graduated.

Or maybe we're all a decade older and don't care as much about sports?
