  • Chaos in Dayton

This just leaves me sick to my stomach...ball players, extra hard baseballs, high tensions, stinky smell of Dayton, unruly Daytonian fans, curse words, etc. Why can't they control people when they are living there or working in Dayton:

What a terrifying thread title! Please be more responsible in the future.

I feared the worst had happened. Needless to say, I was relieved to find otherwise.

That incident was very traumatic for the fine heartland community in the great Ohio Miami Valley. So just as we've overcome floods, recession and other challenges, we will overcome the violence of that dastardly Peoria Chief.

Thank you for sharing that informative link.

The Dayton Region is the place to make it all happen. We have big city amenities with a small town, Midwestern feel. You won't spend all the time in your car commuting to your job, but rather spending time with your family and friends.

I'm going to have to side with the ball player here because of all the things in life that can really hurt you, a baseball isn't one of them.

That said, when one goes to the ball park, one is taking the risk of a ball coming into the stands.

Whoa there. So a pitcher intentionally hits two players, including one in the head.

He throws the next one high and in and things get antsy. As the benches clear the pitcher turns and let's it fly into the stands.

A spectator gets hit in the head and misses work as a result. He's a blue collar worker and his hard hat won't fit due to head swelling. So it's been established that a baseball can indeed hurt you, especially if thrown at your head by a professional pitcher.

A spectator assumes the risk of unintentional contact with a ball, but this was an intentional act.

And you side with the criminal pitcher? I'll remember that next time you go all Law and Order on this board.

Oh my. I suppose I should have added a TIC there, eh?

You lawyers just don't have a sense of humor.

So Dayton almost gets wiped off the map with tornados and not one "thoughts and prayers" on this cold-hearted, miserable website. Not one PM offering donations of cash and/or supplies for my friends and family who may have been affected. None of you guys are my best friends (except HFN and HB) anymore and you can all kiss my "you know what!"

In my defense, I do donate to the Humanitarian Fund at church. I figured they'll send along any needed aid.

                    Thoughts and prayers.

That was the Thanks, Dayton! thread dedicated to the positive contributions made by the 937 and it needed to be locked on account of Romney, etc. Anyways the tornados in Dayton wouldn't have belonged in that thread unless you're a storm chaser. If that's the case, please PM and I'll temporarily unlock.
