  • Yoga/Pilates and/or other gym classes

In the next hour or so I'm going to try my hand at Power Yoga and I'm a bit nervous....mainly because I'm thinking I'll be the only guy in the room. I also will have no idea what I'm doing as it'll be my first time trying this. I guess I need to talk someone into coming with me so I'm not feeling like such a loser. I'm also going to try my hand at Pilates on Thursday. MJ does Pilates at leaset 3 times a week. I'll return and report on my thoughts on both classes.

My goal is to increase core strength while also increasing flexibility so i'm trying my hand at a couple things that could help in that arena. Thankfully my employer just opened a gym in one of their buildings so everything is free to use, including the classes. Any other recommendations for me to try?

If he's lucky he'll get to see DDD's rear end in Lululemon pants.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

If you forgot your yoga pants you can just follow him over to the elliptical after.

I do slow burn vinyasa twice a week. I am the least flexible person in the world. There are many poses I can't hold. Still it really helps my back

Well, I did bring spandex to wear under the shorts so I'm not hanging out all over the place. I found someone to come with me but it's not alleviating my worries. I bet we are the only two dudes in the class. Let's hope there's at least some eye candy or it's going to be a long 45 mins.

I see what you did there. But to answer your question, just swing by a Subway and grab some day-old bread.

It can be embarrassing if your instructor has to continually remind you to keep your head down during downward dog, so be strong.

You're an idiot because mats are already provided in the ship fitness center.

Power Yoga is awesome. The instructor was helpful and my hips have never felt stretched so much. Totally going back next week and now I'm wishing they did it more than once a week.

The "What to wear?" issue has been eliminated by a class in NYC where the participants wear nothing.

Apparently people judge you by the clothes you wear, "But when we're naked, it's like we're all the same." Uh, no, we're not. And fret not if the babe in front of you catches your attention. "The studio says that erections during the class do occur, but happen ‘rarely'. They encourage that ‘when it does it's okay and nothing to be embarrassed about.'"

And think of the hundreds of sweaty people who have helped break in the mat for you.
