  • I loved the detectorists and I thought the widow was decent. Really interesting to see a series take place in sub Saharan Africa.

Just finished the series. It’s crude, but I love the Show so much I was bummed to learn the main characters weren’t married in real life. Ha.

      • If you want to see a dramatically different personna in a single actor, watch the Detectorists and then watch an episode of Brittania (which isn’t very good, IMO). The tall skinny detectorist is also the chief Druid. Quite a difference.

I doubt this positive view of S2 is shared by the casual viewer, however. I have a feeling the casual TV viewer really liked season 1 and then hated season 2 because it didn't go anywhere. That's not true, but there were a few slow spots that had to be waded through to get to the good stuff. All in all, I think it's one of the best comedies out there right now.

          Spoiler for *:
Rose's trip to Paris is just a drag and feels so out of place/character and unnecessary. Also, Abe's continuous downward spiral is a bit overdone. Why should I believe that a top-notch mathematician and engineer, whose life is built on stability and probability, is suddenly so emotionally unstable? Both of those storylines detract from the character development we're seeing in Midge, Joel, and Susie.

Just finished binging 1 and 2. Phenomenal television. Tony Shaloub and Alex Borstein are show stealers and perfect compliments to the rock steady Brosnahan.

Yep, one of the best shows on TV. And just realized today that MMM is where I’ve recently seen that Shazam guy.

Yep I put off watching it forever because it seemed like a show for women but really thought it was awesome too.

The first season was great. The second was good. I hope the downward trend doesn’t continue.

Did you watch Mad Men? If so, how did you feel about it?

FTR, I enjoyed all of the Romanoffs episodes, but some were definitely better than others.

I liked Mad Men. But just kind of stopped watching after two or three seasons. Can't remember exactly why.

Did it get more exciting after the first couple of episodes? Because that's when we stopped.
