  • The last two times we've had a Wednesday night activity at the SF reservoir I saw another YM group with either homemade kayaks or the cardboard canoe Surfah mentioned above. All of the kayaks and a couple of the cardboard canoes made it through the evening.

Next up: a raging river during the snow melt.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Very happy with that ruling. Common sense wins.

          • I don't see how you could look your fellow ward/stake-members in the face if you had sued one of them because you were injured during a pickup basketball game.

I inferred from the article that he only sued the other player, not the church itself, which strikes me as odd. I think the type of person that wants to sue over injuries from a pickup game is the same type of person that would try to go after the deepest pockets. He probably should've hired a particular lawyer in Utah County that is adept at filing ADA lawsuits.

            • Glad that nonsense was dismissed. I guarantee that case was taken by an attorney who saw $80k in medical bills (all covered by health insurance) and thought "Hey, even if they settle for meds or even under meds, we can all make some money on this." 95% of PI attorneys would not have touched that case with a 10-foot rim pole. These are the types of cases that ruin injury claims for people who are truly injured by negligent conduct.

What a douche. Jump stop at the foul line when you have a guy riding your back?

Seriously. Sounds like a guy trying to draw a foul who got more than he bargained for.

YouTuber Grant Thompson died in a paragliding accident earlier this week.

As someone so big on YouTube, of course he was filming with his GoPro at the time of the accident.

Guy in my ward does that. I guess where I live is somewhat a mecca for paragliders. It will probably kill him or leave him permanently disabled. Sure looks like fun though.
