    Have you read any of the Wheel of Time? Sanderson's finishing the last (3-part) volume for the late Robert Jordan. Both writers at the top of the quality list for the genre.

      I read like 8 of the Wheel Of Time books and then put them down when Jordan died thinking that there will never be an ending. I will have to pick them up again ... I do hope Sanderson can bring the series to a conclusion that is worthy of the series.

        The Devil in the White City by Eric Larsen.

        Its about a serial killer in Chicago during the 1890's leadng up to the world fair. I'm about 1/3 through and it is a fascinating book so far. I'm curious to see how it turns out.

            Having read 3 of his books, I think he'll do it justice.

              I just finished reading the first of a three part series: Dante and Virgil's Totally Awesome Adventure in Hell

              The Divine Comedy is a great book, especially in Italian because it rhymes. The inscription above the Gates of Hell is especially descriptive:

              Per me si va ne la città dolente,
              per me si va ne l'etterno dolore,
              per me si va tra la perduta gente.

              Giustizia mosse il mio alto fattore;
              fecemi la divina podestate,
              la somma sapienza e 'l primo amore.

              Dinanzi a me non fuor' cose create
              se non etterne, e io etterno duro.
              Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'entrate.

              (Through me the way into the suffering city,
              through me the way to the eternal pain,
              Through me the way that runs among the lost.

              Justice urged on my high articifier;
              my maker was divine authority,
              the highest wisdom and the primal love.

              Before me nothing but eternal things
              were made, and I endure eternally.
              Abandon every hope, who enter here.)

              And so it begins....
              "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

                      Great book, I have read that a couple of times.

                      I am currently reading The Brothers Karamazov but am having a hard time getting started. Might not happen until I am on vacation in a week and a half.

                        That is one of the best books on Gettysburg I've ever read. It really brought it to life for me. I also like his sons work.

                        I may be small, but I'm slow.

                              I am currently reading David Weber's newest By Heresies Distressed.

                              I am going to have to go to Barnes and Noble soon to find titles to restock my request list at the library
