Pocket holes are probably stronger, but more difficult to hide. I like pocket holes for cabinets where I can hide the pocket holes since I don’t like filling them after inserting the screw.

Biscuits are great since they are hidden.

I’ve been thinking of getting one after a guy at work raves on them.
No clamping, which I guess is nice as well

They are nice. They have different purposes. I think biscuits properly done can be very strong, but for a face frame the pocket jig is tough to beat. Fast and easy and strong. I would never consider a pocket screw joint for a location where it could be seen. Biscuits or other joinery are better for that.
    PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I volunteered to make some of the props for my daughter's play at school. I've been assigned to make five facades for various scenes including a storefront, a dresser, a fireplace, a bank teller, and one other. Been using the pocket jig to quickly construct these one-sided facades in fairly short order. Love it. Well worth the small expense (~$50).

    NICE!

I may be small, but I'm slow.

Geez Walter. A play at school? What happened to cardboard, duct tape, and sharpies?

That looks like a prop from a school play in a movie.

Working on a built in desk/bookshelves in the study. Had to borrow some extra clamps for the glue up of the 12 foot long maple top.

Top is glued up, sanded, stained and installed. The whole thing came together nicely. Just need to build the bookcases now.

    Bookshelf project

First step was to build a very large number of boxes.
    Used 3/4" maple plywood

Then build a base on the floor.

Do a test fit of a few rows to make sure everything is copacetic.

Paint them all white and stack them all.

    Added trim.

    Add books

    So far, so good.

I don't know what I'd do with that many books, but it sure looks good.

    Kitchen table project:

We found some nice wood from a salvage yard. Twas a barn door.

Ran them boards through the table saw to get the edges clean. Used a massive number of biscuits to glue them together.

Cleaned up the ends of the table with a track saw and then attached the ends.
Then started sanding and sanding and sanding.

Filled the nail holes and voids with black epoxy. Then sanded some more.

    Attached legs.

And moved it into the kitchen

    I intend to live forever.
    So far, so good.

    Very nice!

Do you not own a planer or jointer? Would probably help cut down on the sanding.

Just finished a credenza to match the built ins. Used real walnut for the top. When I originally put the top on it I realized I had made the top rail of the face frame too thick since there was a big gap between the top of the drawers and the walnut top. I took it back out to the garage and cutoff about a half inch to make it look better. Next up is a walnut desk and then the study is done.
