Seems like this should be in the "What's right with Austin" thread.

    Shut your whore mouth... https://www.texasmonthly.com/food/go...burger-anyway/

But how good is a Whataburger? Really good. Really. In fact, summer before last, Texas Monthly administered a carefully controlled blind taste test in which Whataburger faced off against four worthy competitors, including recent California transplant In-N-Out Burger. Spoiler alert: Whataburger won. And it wasn’t even close. From the eleven impartial judges, Whataburger earned 46 out of a possible 55 points and five first-place votes. In-N-Out came in next to last with nineteen out fifty-five points and five last place votes. There’s burgers and then there’s burgers. In the immortal words of Mel Tillis, “it’s not just a hamburger. It’s a . . .Whataburger.” Plus, from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. there are taquitos.

Texas Monthly opining on whether a Texas burger joint is any good.

Their honey butter chicken biscuit is fabulous, but their burgers are no better than McDonald’s. I’d take Freddie’s, Culver’s, or in n out over them any day.

In-n-Out is dog food. Do you all even have those in H-Town? And what is that crap they call fries? I am not sure any dog would eat those. Even Shake Shake with their frozen meat and fries are better than In-n-Out's.

The myth that IN-N-OUT doesn't taste horrible (those fries!!??!?!?!) is a better target for your search bots, Ted, now that your boy Trump is on the outs.

It’s funny that article starts out by talking about how wonderful the in-n-out burger is.

I am not a fan of the fries either.

    Whataburger is ghetto.

But out of all the ghetto hamburger joints (e.g., In-n-Out, Burger King, Mickey D's, Wendy's, Jack's, Blake's, etc.)... In-n-Out is like a Detroit, MI (although I like their fresh veggies.) Whataburger is more like a Houston (So what if someone is shot now and then. There are a lot of people in H-Town.)

Yes of course. A chain started in southern california that features fresh ingredients is just like Detroit. Gotcha.

You guys arguing over the best burger joint are hilarious. We are talking about a product whose main ingredient is ground beef. You might as well be arguing the best stir fry recipe for ribeye.

Fine by me if you don't like In-N-Out. Anthony Bourdain who has eaten pretty much everything in the world disagrees with you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4J1seTHAMU

I am just glad What-a-crappy-burger! isn't an option here. It would suck if out of convenience I found myself eating there regularly.

Is butter tarts a Canadian thing? My wife's grandmother used to make those all the time, and it never occurred to me that it was common in Canada.

Yep. Definitely Canadian. My grandmother made yummy ones. More recently my SIL has taken up the mantle.

Also, I prefer buffalo burgers to moose burgers.

I guess it depends if you live on ag exempt land in a "barn" or not.

Sales tax is only for those that shop at the local walmart and not online.
