  • Thanks Utah

I am tired of putting articles about Utah in that Provo thread. This pretty great state needs a thread of its own.

Utah now rated as the best state to live in the future:

    Choke on that one, haters.

Good read. Most of the bottom states are college football hotbeds. Coincidence?

Here, here. I love this state. I acknowledge the complaints some people have, but there are tons of good, hard working, community oriented people in this state and they aren't "far righties".

I was heartened that the Eagle Forum was pissed so many Utahns came and participated in the caucus's and diluted their power.

I do HATE THE SNOW though.

I'm here right now, and this place blows. Can't wait to get back to my crime-ridden city.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Didn't you read the article? You need to be here IN THE FUTURE. It is going to be awesome.

90 minutes of shoveling snow this morning.

My wife tells me it was good exercise. On the plus side, that is more than I shoveled during the entire winter last year. We need all the water we can get.

I imagine it will be much nicer once someone leaves, in the future.

This thread should be called "Utah We Love Thee."

I love visiting Utah, and I find myself often on Google Earth street view, just navigating the mean streets of Orem/Provo. The Barbizon is gone by the way. And Reams. And the Hi-Spot. And the Der Weinerschnitzel. Baskin Robbins is still there though, but the old Taco Bell across the street is gone. (Deseret Towers... klablueee) And El Azteca used to be up stairs on E820 North, not on 12th N.

The Provo I knew and loved, no longer exists, which makes it very easy to love it when we leave.

Get a snowblower. I've had a little single-stage Toro for about 20 years, and it still runs great. (I start it up once a month during the off months just to keep it from having gas turn bad and gunk it up.) I go around and do everyone's sidewalks and driveways in my cul-de-sac. The snow was so light and fluffy today, it was a breeze.

Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

This makes all the sense in the world to me. At some point IN THE FUTURE the native population will have been diluted enough by normal people that it will be awesome here!

I doubt it. We still lead the nation in birth rate.

I see it more that all the Californians who have ruined Utah will finally leave.
