Did anybody watch the 'listening session' at the White House? Apparently it was...constructive? And Trump was...not too bad?"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

As I recall, there are about 3,000,000 schoolteachers in the U.S. If only 10% of that number were to start carrying at school, I wonder if the introduction of that many weapons among millions of curious kids won't result in a larger number of deaths and injuries than those caused by these mass school shootings. Through occasional lapses in attention, cops have their weapons stolen and misused; can we expect better fiream security from schoolteachers?

If you read the journal of the kid that was planning a shooting, he spent a lot of time thinking about how to take out the SRO first. This is a pretty compelling anecdote that bolsters the argument for more armed people in the facility. The policy currently being considered in the neighboring district includes a provision that the identity of approved carrying personnel is confidential and known only by the administration and law enforcement. There is some discussion about firearm location, but I think they lean toward some sort of lock box or at least a trigger lock mechanism.sigpic

Of course, gun control ("gun free America") can be easily implemented in five simple steps... So why are we even talking about arming teachers?

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
