I'm on a flight from SLC to Oakland and their are 20 missionaries aboard, all headed to the Oakland San Francisco Mission. 10 sisters, 10 elders. It is quite a sight. I think their level of bubbliness (not sure that's a word, but you catch my drift) is extraordinary. I feel more cheerful just being around them.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Sisters are now called to a new zone leader type calling and are involved in the leadership with the mission. The new position is called Sister Training Leaders."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Just got an e-mail indicating that the church is looking for someone to volunteer an apartment in our part of Provo to house a pair of missionaries. You get reimbursed $75 per month! Even Provo is being affected by the surge.
Reminds me of something. My parents used to house missionaries in their basement and I was asking my mother about it recently. She told me that at one point she noticed that a big part was missing from her antique sewing machine and she couldn't imagine what happened to it. A few weeks later after a transfer or two, one of the missionaries came to her and confessed that his former companion had stolen the part in order to send it to his mother who had a similar antique machine which was missing the part in question. I couldn't believe a missionary would pull such an asshole stunt with my sweet little mother. I asked her if she followed up with the mission president to raise some hell and get her part back and she said no. She didn't want to cause any trouble."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

We had our first 18 year old missionary at church this past week. He graduated from high school less than a month ago. That is crazy to me.

We had two new cute as a button sister missionaries. I think they were 14, and 15 years old. They said both the opening and closing prayers in Sacrament Meeting, so apparently one of them also holds the MP. I think I'll tighten my seat belt, the church is changing pretty fast right now.
