  • I formally request asylum.

Hello CUF. I'm not applying for citzenship just yet, I consider myself more of a political refugee from that other board.

I'm 44, a white male, and like taking long walks on the beach. I enjoy using explosives and blowing things up. I'm fairly obsessed with BYU football.

I have season tickets on the East side of the stadium. I sit in the faculty section with my brother who is a professor at BYU. We sit all the way at the top near the 50 yard line. It's a great view of the field, and we can stand the whole game and lean against the wall.

    How did you find CUF?
Heard about it over on that other board. I left that other site during the holidays when Jefe personally threw me in the clink for a day for joking, this post is useless without pics--one of the oldest cliches over there--when someone claimed their attractive daughter was pulled over in Provo so the cop could flirt with her. Well I hold grudges for a long time, so I haven't been over there since.

How did you choose your moniker?
It's in reference to the 1984 Bo Diddley Tech remark by Bryant Gumbel. Can't stand him, Bo Schembechler (may he rest in peace), or Barry Switzer either (grudge).

What do you do (other than read CUF)?
Jack of all trades, master of none. I'm an active duty Soldier in the Utah Army National Guard (Engineers). Been in for nearly 20 years.

How many time zones have you lived in?
    6 (two month minimum stay)

    What are your sports loyalties?
Pleasant Grove Vikings, BYU Cougars, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Royals
I used to like the Jazz before the strike. I really took it personally, and have been holding a grudge ever since.

Are you looking forward to wuap's welcome question and what do you think it will be?
He'll probably ask something uncomfortable. No I don't want a bedroom forum.

    Optional, but encouraged questions:

What do you like about CUF?
The format is growing on me. I like that it's not as fast paced as that other board. I like that the posters here seem generally more intelligent and mature as well. I like that there is less moderation, and that less moderation seems necessary.

What don't you like about CUF?
There's another learning curve with all the functionality.

Do you pee in the sink?
    Only when necessary.

Did you ever consider an alternative career path?
I've done many things in my life, and considered many others.

When your kids get older, will you do drugs with them in order to teach them a responsible approach to drugs?
Too late. That is to say, my youngest is 16. If the three of them were to get into drugs, they'd probably already be there. But now that you bring it up...

What's your standing in the church? (this was originally meant as a joke but it stuck)
Active. I currently teach Gospel Doctrine. It kind of freaked me out at first, but I'm getting used to it and starting to like it.

Why are you so creepy? How long have you been lurking?
My son is on a mission in Japan. He refused to tell us the first name of his companion. So when I found the information on the internet, he called me a creep. I haven't really been lurking here too long before I signed up.

Do you expect anyone to respond to this thread?
    Not really.

      Welcome!

Yeah takes a while to get used to the format here but this board is a lot more fun than CB in my opinion.

          Yeah, that was good Mindful.

And BD, I liked the format of this board a lot better once I figured out I needed to click the New Posts link to see where the action is on CUF.

Welcome, Bo. You should be flattered that the first welcome and acknowledgement of your arrival came from Mindful, one of the board's finest.

Nice to have another 12 Bravo on the board, even if you are a BYU fan.

Welcome, Bo. I am pleased you chose the pellegrino-approved template to introduce yourself.

I still think you and kc should join forces on the tailgate thing.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

CUF is where marginal mormons come to begin their end. A few of us HP's here, are on "internet missions" as part of a HQ black ops project to get the home teaching numbers up. We interact with the backsliding and inactive business professionals (read Elders) to keep tabs on them, and encourage them to continue paying tithes and offerings. In return we get free ISP from the church, and unlimited free genealogy support for our efforts. I guess it's a win win, but it's a 10 year commitment, and it gets kinda old reading the "What I Learned in Church" thread. The Docs are nice with raisin cakes, and free ibuprofen advice, but they are a little lax on the hygiene. The lawyers use big words, and are stingy with advice if you want to represent yourself, but for the most part they only nip at each other. Be wary of Robin Finderson, as he is part of a secret combination that is trying to thwart the advancement of CUF, and is ghost writing under a pseudonym that heretofore goes undetected. If you hear a whistle - hide.

                      Welcome and Good Luck.

                        Welcome aboard.

I came aboard in similar fashion as you, and I'm liking it more and more.

I've been unsuccessfully trying to integrate the two.

Thanks. Some of my best friends are Utes. It's a great rivalry. Hope it doesn't die. I've also got the 12N, 12H, and 92Y MOS's.

We may yet. My tailgating companion would have to buy into it as well. I think we might take this year to figure some things out.

Yeah, I'm already tired of that one.
