I can't stand the Wynn, but it's a great place for celeb sightings. I got winked at my Matthew Perry there last year. (In the interest of full disclosure: Flash said clearly the alcohol was interfering my vision for me to think he winked at me, but he so did.)

But if you're going to fork over the dough for no reason, go for Encore over Wynn. I'm not a fan of either one, but certainly newer is better in this case.

The Wynn is running cheap deals right now. Suites for around $130 a night, so I am sure you can get normal rooms for around $100 or even less if you just called and offered. Bad economy AND summertime in Vegas should net you some good deals.

Some non-gambling things that we have done in Vegas over the years:

Wind tunnel skydiving thing, near the Las Vegas Hilton. Very fun.

Race car driving experience out at the speedway. Very fun.

Hoover Dam tour. Not very fun.

Seen O, Ka, Mystere, Carrot Top, Danny's Glans, Blue Man Group, Stomp. Enjoyed them all.
      Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Is anyone here from Las Vegas? We are flying out of LV in a couple of weeks, and I am trying to figure out a free way to ditch my car for seven days while we cruise around the tropics. I just hate the idea of paying a hundred bucks to park my car for a few days.

yeah. They were giving away rooms at the Wynn when we were there in March. Nobody's going to Vegas in the first place, and anybody staying at one of Steve's place wants to stay at Encore. Other hotels you can get rooms or even suites for fifty bucks. It's crazy.

Make me an offer I can't refuse.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Really? I just checked out their website for room rates this Fri & Sat night -- $364 per night for the cheapest. The following weekend it's $254 a night.

NCMO? I have some cool Obama stickers. Or maybe we could catch some lunch and I could pick up the tab.

which one? Wynn or Encore? Anyway, this was back in March, for starters. Plus it varies based on what shows are in town that week. And they never quote their lowest rates online.

It was that obvious? Crap, look ER is a Dr. and that is why I would check on availability if he wanted me too. As for the rest of you, unless you show me where you might help me someday, the answer is no, I won't check on availability for you.

You just don't get it. Flying on airplanes is one of the most unethical things a human being can do. The only things worse are cruising the tropics and parking a vehicle in Las Vegas for a few days. You are some unethical atheist with a monster-size carbon footprint. Thanks a lot, planet ruiner.

It also couldn't hurt to go to Priceline, bid $100 on a 5-star hotel and see what happens.

Have a retro Vegas experience, skip the beautiful hotels and the five star restaurants and go enjoy Vegas the way it was meant to be experienced. First off book a room at Binions Horseshoe Hotel right downtown. I'm sure you can get it for under twenty bucks. Shows are for pussies so go hit the tables early and plan on staying there until late. Drink hard and often until you can't hardly see the cards in front of you. After you are down to your last $100 get away from tables and head over to the Palomino Club to end your evening. Hire the skankist girl you can find in there for a couple of lap dances and then go back to the hotel and pass out. 18 holes at the Desert Inn course the next day fully hung over would complete your stay but sadly they blew that sucker up. Just ask Landpoke what a good time this is.

This is exactly what I have been saying, but it is a family reunion paid for by the in laws. If we didn't go they'd probably get so pissed that they might melt a few ice caps with the steam coming out their ears... so really, it is all for the greater good.
