I reported my rapist today so he can’t become a Supreme Court justice later
WTH? So the critical reason to report a sexual assault is just in case the assailant happens to ascend to the doorstep of the Supreme Court several years later? How about protecting other possible victims in real time? Now I see that reporting has a purpose, even if it’s not about the pursuit of legal justice. The report may be confidential, and the perpetrator may not suffer immediate consequences. But Kavanaugh defenders doubted Ford’s credibility because there was no contemporaneous evidence of any misdeeds. If she’d been able to point to paperwork she’d filled out in the early 1980s, this conversation — and Kavanaugh’s candidacy for the Supreme Court — would probably have ended weeks ago. Reporting an incident as soon as possible puts contemporaneous testimony into the record, in case it is ever needed.
These people are the real deplorables.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
I do think it is deplorable that her motivation for action is using her victimhood as some kind of political tool. Why isn't she going to the police, even now? She is letting two rapists go free and endangering other women. She owes it to all of us to put these two predators behind bars.

In response to our earlier discussion about which side is motivated now:
Going to be a really interesting election.

Speaking of 538, I was searching for something earlier this week and I stumbled across this pre-2016-election piece by HuffPo. The righteous indignation is palpable.

Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
I don’t read that speculation but I think the Dems will have a hard time taking the senate. They have more to lose than to gain there. If I was running the DNC then I concentrate on taking the house... then they could at least impeach Drumpf and let Pence have a turn being president.

Yeah, I am sure Justice Kavanaugh won't hold anything against them.

A hundred students were gathered on campus protesting the confirmation and holding signs
WE STAND WITH VICTIMS
and then it started raining.

"People tell me I'm doing such a great job, they ask 'why are there term limits? We think you should stay President forever.' I don't know, that's just what I keep hearing. I tell you, if I was allowed to stay, America would just keep on winning. I can see why people are asking that."
That's funny. I heard similar fears about Obama from the far righties on CB/ social media.
I know, but in that case there was nothing to back it up in Obama's actions or words. I mean, Trump is the one who said, "president for life, I like that. Maybe we should try that here..." He also commented on how cool it was how when Kim Jung Un said something how like everyone just stopped and listened and wished it could be like that for him. Sure, those were just jokes, right? I think Trump likes to throw stuff like that out there to see the reaction. If it's positive he stays with it. Obama didn't joke that way. I'm not an Obama guy in any way, shape or form. But he had some respect for our history and way of doing things. One thing around Trump is to want to tear it all down. Obama didn't praise dictators. The far right would have been pulling their hair out and burning it if he had.
