I actually thought we looked ok until that awful defending. Granted it was only 8 min in.

They settled down there the last 20 mins or so and then the penalty. Down 2-0. Not good.

Yep they were looking really good. Pressing forward, winning set pieces and getting good chances. Then the unlucky penalty. It was a very questionable decision and against the run of play but it resulted directly from a Bradley giveaway. Can't make those mistakes against Colombia.

Just missed getting one back with the Colombian defender clearing it off the line.

Good stuff from the US this half. Lots of pressure up top resulting in chances created from takeaways in the attacking third. We did not play poorly tonight but games like this do show our place in the world. Colombia is a top 10 maybe top 5 team in the world. We are not.

Sigh. Not a good way to start the tournament.

It would be really helpful if Paraguay and Costa Rica finished in a 0-0 draw.

Not only did it end 0-0, but Costa Rica's center back got a stupid straight red card in the 90th minute which means he will be out against us.

US came out so flat against Costa Rica. First 5 min were awful with almost no possession. Then it seemed a switch flipped and the US has spent ever since around the CR goal, winning a well deserved penalty to go up 1-0.

Not a good night for Klinsmann haters. Attack is humming. 3-0 first half.

Costa Rica put everything they had into attacking the first 15 minutes. Now, they aren't getting anyone back on D and US is taking advantage.

The team looks a lot better when Bradley isn't doing dumb stuff.

    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

This is a good summary of why Bradley looked "dumb" against Colombia. He gets a lot of unfair blame when the US doesn't succeed.

I don't know much about soccer but Paraguay doesn't look bad.

The path out of group play got a lot easier after last night. Obviously if we beat Paraguay we are through. A draw coupled with any result in the other group game but a CR win by more than 5 goals would also put us through.

If we get through we will play the winner of Group B in New Jersey. The winner will probably be Brazil, but it is not a lock.

Wow. Horrible hand ball called on Bolivia in the 98th minute (8 mins of stoppage). Ends up costing them the game.

Yeah, I didn't like that, but the "experts" on the post game show said it was a good call. I still can't see how it was a good call.

Just saw the replay. It was a bad angle but it looked like a rough call to me.

That Bolivia free kick is the goal of the tournament so far.

    That handball was so questionable.

Losing Yedlin and Wood for the Quarters really sucks.

I'm so torn watching the other Group A match. I should be happy CR is winning because that result would mean we likely avoid Brazil in the quarters. But it would also mean we play in Seattle instead of NJ.
