So we get Ecuador in Seattle. Pretty great considering our prospects 10 days ago.

Brazil tied with Peru late in the first. If Peru can steal this game Brazil would be out. I would like that.

Whoa what a crazy thing here with refs allowing a hand ball for the Peru goal.

Brazil going out if they can't score here.

La Mano de Dios II. Crappy way for Brazil to get eliminated. Almost makes me want to cheer for Brazil to equalize.

          Almost.

Exactly. No one likes to see a game lost on such a blatantly missed call, but Brazil sat back the whole game playing for a draw and probably got lucky avoiding a penalty in the first half. All is not well in Brazilian soccer. Since the knockout stage of last World Cup began they have been reeling and look uninspired almost every time they step on the field.

You mean since Germany dropped a 7 spot on them?

That was definitely the game that exposed them. Remember that they then went on to lose 0-3 to the Netherlands in the 3rd place game. Since the 2014 World Cup, they have won every friendly they have played. But they bombed out of the 2015 Copa America in the quarters against Paraguay and are only 2-1-3 in 2018 World Cup Qualifying. They are becoming a team that wins meaningless games but can't put it together in tournaments.

I don't like the flow of this game since the double red cards. There's a lot of space out there and Ecuador is taking advantage.

Nevermind. Just got our second and we are up 2-0. I love Zardes and Wood up top.

That was nice. Are Wood and Jones both out for the next game if we hold on?

Yeah unfortunately. I actually thought Wood was out this game. You can see how much more dynamic our attack is with him out there.

Bradley giving it up again in our end almost leads to the tying goal.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Everyone is exhausted. The extra running with 10 v 10 has taken a toll. Need fresh legs in there now.
