  • The official Dave Rice is a better coach than Special K thread..........

Rice is 7-0 with a win over number 1 North Carolina on a neutral floor.

Special K is 1-6 with a 3 point home win over San Diego Christian College and losses to Adams State, UNC-Asheville, UMass, Harvard, Boise State and Montana State clearly the who's who of college hoops.

    Good call Chris Hll.

This is a good chicken salad recipe. Although, it would really suck if you leave your chicken and mayo out to develop E. Coli.

This is why Utah didn't go after Rice:
Because he would be a worse hire than the terrible
hire that we just got. That is why you don't go after Rice.

junkie, as a friend I feel it incumbent on me to ask you to please stop. Please stop your trolling effort. It just doesn't work anymore because you're allowing the anger you feel about Utah getting invited to the PAC12 rather than BYU to dictate your trolling posts.

When the Utes and Cougars were conference mates, your trolls were better because they lacked the bitterness of some sort of equality in their place in the college football world. Now, they're a thinly veiled attempt at hiding your insecurity of where the two teams are today. Let me assure you - Utah and BYU, regardless conference affiliation, are still the same as they've been for decades - two teams from the same state who want to be the pride of that state. That will never change. Utah went to the PAC12 and BYU chose the independence route.

Rather than be angry that Utah is in the PAC12, embrace BYU's independent status. After all, you say BYU is your team. Let the anger go and love your team.

IPU you know what they say about opinions? I have been on the Dave Rice bandwagon long before he became UNVs head coach or Utah went to the Pac12. You can keep responding to al of my posts by caling them trolls but you are only making yourself look like a jackass. I was not the one clamoring about how shitty a hire Dave Rice would be. Instead of constantly trying to call me out or trolling every time I post you could learn something by studying them and actually make yourself look like you know what you are talking about, for once.

What was strange was that Utes seemed to all agree Rice would be a great coach. But none of them wanted him.

Most of the Utes fans (not speaking for myself) probably were paranoid of hiring another assistant coach. I think Krystkowiak was a good hire, long rebuild ahead.

Sorry CJ, but I don't get this thread. Rice would have turned the UofUtah down to take the UNLV job instead. So UofUtah was never a real option for Rice; probably more of a bargaining chip in seeking a better job.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if all that "UofUtah is talking to Rose" talk was about Rice. Being the stand-up guy that he is, no doubt Rose set the UofUtah folks straight on Rice's real availability. Then they moved on.
                        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I would have turned down the Utah job for unlv at this point in time.

Naah, we screwed the pooch collectively with our assessment of his coaching ability. There were a few lone wolves in the wilderness who touted him, but were laughed out of the room. I was at the forefront of that derision, too.

Had the UNLV job given the appearance it would be open, we could've instead insisted that he's a done deal for his alma mater. Can't help but think that when Kruger left for Oklahoma that a lot of people within the UNLV community were surprised.

The one exception I take with the premise of this thread is that UNLV beat UNC on a neutral court. I'm not saying UNC deserved to win, if anything I'm somewhat glad they lost a game like that because it gave them an experience that they needed to get better, but let's not for a moment think that the Orleans Center is truly a neutral court for UNLV. You could see the crowd was all wearing red and you could hear that distinctive "RE-BEL" chant throughout. Hell, they stormed the court at the end of the game.

that said, Rice was phenomenal his game plan to control Zeller and defend the key was impressive, not to mention the ball movement on offense.
