How Do You Shave?

Update: I shaved the old-school safety razor way, with Proraso cream and the badger brush, for over a full year until I had worked through all my blades. I then reverted back to my Gillette Mach 3 and Barbasol shave cream from a can. The old-school way simply didn't add enough value to be worth the time/hassle.

The only thing I kept is the brush which I use to brush on the shave cream from the can. Oh yeah, I also kept using the Clubman aftershave. I like the way it smells and my wife does to.

I do Dollar Shave Club - 4 blades (triple) every two months. I use Kirk's Castile soap as my lube.

For me, yes. I usually had to do a two-pass shave with a safety razor to get what I felt was equivalent to the Mach 3 shave. Your mileage may vary.

I order cartridges from Dorco. Super cheap, there's always a discount code. I use the C.O. Bigelow cream from Bath and Body Works. It's Proraso. When I'm in a hurry I use my Braun 7 series. I don't have much to shave. Asian genetics are strong.

What about the cream and brush takes too much time? Seems like the safety razor would be your major time killer in that line up.

Also, I hate shave gel. So hard to get it to lather up. You have to waste a ton of it just to get good coverage. That is, until I used some in my old school bowl and brush. Lathered right up and used a lot less of the gel to get there. Still don't like the gel, though.

My Wahl trimmers came with an eyebrow attachment. Works well.
