  • Kevorkian's death. . .

Your opinion most aligns with which of the following:

    A. I think he will be met with open arms by those he helped move on to the next world.

    B. I think he will be met with a mob of angry people he helped to move on to the next world.

    C. I think he was sent straight to hell.

    D. I think he has received sainthood status the second he passed to the other realm.

    E. There is no afterlife, so it is all irrelevant.

I meant for this to be a poll, but I can't find the post a poll option, lol. I'm a dunce.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Whatever you think of him, and I am not a big fan, I believe he only assisted people who were very eager to die. I don't see any reason they would be upset with him.

Not to thread jack here, but this prompted a thought I had about a month ago that I have been meaning to share anyway. Hopefully this is a good enough place..

I love The Mentalist. I find the show very entertaining and thought provoking. One episode really had me thinking.. This episode was when Patrick Jane sat with the coroner while he passed away on his own accord rather then by the cancer taking over his body. He stated he knew his death was coming and knew what the cancer would do and he chose to end his life rather then go through that suffering. The other reason behind him wanting Jane there was the individual did not want to be alone for his death. If he was alone it would Automatically cause for an autopsy to take place. He asked Patrick Jane to be there for him for his death to report what took place so no autopsy would be needed. Jane did not want to take part but in the end did.. I found his response and sympathy also refreshing..

As I watched this episode I had such raw emotions and feelings of sadness and understanding for this option this person took. I don't know.. maybe With all the issues around my Dad it has struck a cord with me a little more then normal. Do I condone it?? I really don't know.. At that moment I felt sympathy for him and for some reason I understood his choice. And I also did not think he would end up in hell for his actions.. For him this death was more on his terms and not the cancer. And was more with dignity. How can I condone a person for that or think his entire life's work will determine his place in eternities..

I don't know.. I am rambling here so I apologize.. But I thought I would share.. It caused me to think. Maybe it hit to close to home for me and that is why its impact was much stronger then others who may have watched it. But for me it had me thinking that evening...

Probably A. I don't believe in a judgement so I think he'll be met with open arms, just like everyone else.
