      Good read, MRD. He's great. It really is too bad that the BYU discontinued its wrestling program.

          My grandparents and my wife's parents say "the BYU". I'm pretty sure it's normal usage from days of yore. I like how it sounds, so I've tried to adopt it.

              I say "the BYU" when I want to irritate my good zoob neighbor. He thinks I am mocking the BYU when I use it. He's right, but I won't admit to him that I use it to deride the BYU.

                I have generally heard "The B.Y."

                I will sometimes call it that because I think it sounds cool.

                    Isn't that a vestige (including the the) from the days of the Brigham Young Academy?
