Apparently, my MIL taught her in kindergarten. She also tried to get her to sing in 1997 at my BIL's mission farewell, but she declined because of nerves/shyness, according to the family scuttlebutt.

I don't know much about this show, but two weeks ago I saw a country cover of Robert Palmer that was absolutely abysmal. I mean, painful.

The Voice went from intriguing to terrible in a hurry. The fact that the judges give zero criticism to horrible contenstants makes the show un-watchable.

I think Dia is good too but she stole that version of Kanye Wests "Heartless". I heard her say she came up with it herself and I know she didn't. The first person to do it was this girl Mia who was part of a show on MTV. Later someone on American Idol did it.

I'm disappointed that this thread is not about Ultravox's terrific album.

I agree with Junkie. This show had promise, but I have stopped watching. Adam Levine has been the most disappointing. I actually like Maroon 5. But he's said at least 2 or 3 times when critiquing contestants that he has never heard the song they were singing before. That blew me away and I actually lost respect for him. He said he had never heard God Bless the Broken Road for example and the other was a Pink song.

And both of those people hacked it from someone else. The Fray and William Fitsimmons both had cover versions out before either of them, IIRC.

Surprised to see you didn't comment on Javier and Adam's duet tonight. You would approve.

Dia was on the news last night, said she missed Utah and Cafe Rio.

I watched the show tonight. Dia's original song was by far the best. Nikki and Cee-lo's performance though stole the show. Cee-lo, as Gidget put it is a 21st century Meatloaf. Adam and Javier, meh.

I liked Dia's original the best too. I really liked Bev and Christina's duet...I agree with Gidge. Btw, it's Vicci, not Nikki.

Anybody catching season 2 of this? There have been some powerhouses so far, as well as a few oddball vocalists (I'm thinking specifically of Erin Martin's performance of "Hey There Delilah). I think the quality of performer is a bit better this season.

I am excited to see Jordis Unga again. I thought she was the best contestant on that rockstar show with Dave Navarro back in the day.

This was probably the most I have ever enjoyed this song. Juliet Simms has heart:
