No kidding. Knocking off both woods cross and Olympus. We played after their OT win against woods cross. It was a fun gam to see.

I guess Woods Cross was the favorite going into the tournament, but I wasn't as impressed with them. Olympus was solid all around. The soph Rylan Jones is so good. I guess he averaged 19 a game as a freshman at Logan and then moved to Olympus. He had offers from BYU, Utah State, and Utah his freshman year. His dad is on the BB staff at Utah now, transferring from Utah State. I also heard the other starting soph for Olympus, Dowdell, has an offer from BYU.

Woods Cross has Trevin Knell who is heading to Cal next year. I think they only lost 2 games this year. In the games I saw he seemed to be able to get shots with ease and would score 20+. Against us he had 30+ in 2 games. I wasn't as impressed with his supporting cast. Gary Trost's son had intermittent good games but if a team could slow down Knell then they had a good shot.

Is Lee going to be a decent player? No offense, but I don't have a ton of confidence in kids from Idaho making any meaningful contributions in basketball. There were the Bowers and Trent Whiting, but it seems like you have to go all the way back to the Pollards (or were they from Idaho?) to find a decent basketball player from Idaho.

I'm not sure how, but Idaho has produced some quality football players for BYU. I am thankful for that, and the potatoes. Great potatoes.

I forgot about Andy Toolson. And the Pollards aren't from Idaho. I also noticed that Roland Minson is from Idaho.

So Idaho has contributed a great player 60 years ago. A very good player 30 years ago. And 3 decent players in the past 20 years. Apparently potato farming isn't helpful in developing jumping ability.

On a serious note, I don't expect either Lee or Connor Harding to be stars at BYU. I think Harding could be a really good role/complimentary player because he was able to do most things well but he just did not strike me as being able to do one thing well enough to be a go to type of player at the D1 level. I think Lee is likely to be similar in ability to Braiden Shaw.

Gary Furniss is from Driggs and Tom Gneiting is from Rigby.

Didnt know Gneiting was an idaho kid. But Napper already won the argument by evoking the name of Richie Webb.

I was in but never really of. Summers on Grandpa's farm, trolling in Magic Reservoir and fishing the Big Wood was always where my heart was. 3 of the 5 kids have ended up in Idaho and the other two would if they could find a comparable lifestyle to what AZ and Cali provide.

Richie had a kid on the local high school team this year. I think he was the best player in Eastern Idaho this year. They were ranked #1 in the state all year but lost they first game at state.

Old Bishop and fb Coach our Hs fb coach thought highly of him. One of many good descendents of Jude May. Read were he was cousin of Ralph's in village of Stones. Don,t know if they were on May side or not. I think he was Superintendent. Had good athletes as kids. I had privilege of knowing nephew of a member of Presidency of Seventy from village of Stones. If I got male cattle manure degree from railroad town that he factory blow smoke in May of roomed with him. I don,t think wife of Ga was Molly Mormon but good women. Her brothers son I knew. Wife of Ga.

Coach made player come back. There are cases of parents getting too out of control. Our spsaid he once got t,d watching son play game. Mostly good kids though. I seen neighboring school fans cheer when one of our Coaches got t,d up. Same one that did war dance in front of fans to show school spirit. Or be jackasses. I think more of the latter. They keep taking away our play in game. But I am glad village of Stones beat that school in play in game, heard would not say it too loud when I mentioned to players brother injured player will be back next game.

One of our neighbors has cousin in Stone town, neighbors dad is auctioneer has a cheesy sense of humor when he does or four h auction. Good man though. Our team should be good but rebuilding. Had ok showings in all star games. Are players.

One of our players Madre stud at Ricks May of played at Suu if she didn,t marry Oadre first. Not sur if she made it down there, padre took teaching job at East Blaine County but son finishing out down here. His Uncle married my Sister. Has mission call to England. Two more of our kids could be getting mission calls soon too.

For football the last few years the Eastern portion of the county that gave us deep throat, Dllin Oaks briefly. Throttled David B Haight in football second to Georgia over Cumberland the Jardonea and Andy Toolson they co oped. Well that split and the southern protein of that town chose football again instead of soccer. That smelly town went 45 miles to the sled dog town not to bump anyone up, but heard co op one year. So we will have more conference games. Not as much scrambling. Christian School in Idaho Falls donlt know status. Children of Lehi in Forth Hall football back. Will they win thought. Interesting stories there.

We played Ambrose every year since they came back and beat us at State. Came to our Tourney last year but missed playing them do to Atomic lit town beating us earlier. Will play them next year. Have let beat us yet. Village of Rocks will they beat us opening night next year. We should have decent season.

A few people were at treasure valley, maybe next year we need to get a head count to see if anyone wants dinne Friday night or breakfast Saturday morning if hotel has not so nice continental. Nice restaurant by Idaho Center. Fun times at State, though consolation games depressing.

I do remember fans going after ref of Eaatern TF county school we won, fan didn,t like call and ref threw ball at him. Chase and breaking up. He left locker room hastily. When I was in High School. People can get extreme in games. Fun in High School great memories. But who remembers every game twenty years later? Comrade great.

That chicken shit Christian online school gets to play there African imports this year. Some may leave after bball season, I seen that accusation on the Idaho Soorts message board a couple years ago. If we play Celtic bball in first round will get them in 2nd round. My brother says that the town of Matt Oaradia and Larry Craig will get revenge on us too.

Next year that chicken shit school will not be able to play there imports in tournament. A private community school in Sun Valley that usually only gives a shit about skiing and soccer but not basketball had a Rwandan that was 6-10 and was good. Could not play in tournament they agreed to it. But we're pissed after the fact. I arm sure the Spokane, Cordalane and Post Falls rejects may make noise on that team. State rules I guess can only start per classification cycle.

Eaat Blaine County played us tough. Nephew of sp member got t,d up, then fouling out got another t so had to sit out against David B Haights alma mater. His sil just joined him today in Heaven. Great man. JR not so. His name got him some appointments.

We did lose to Jr Simplots alma mater down there, but beat them by a point on our turf. Also beat Eaat Jerome County by point. Principles son played on East Jerome County team. So we should get numerous uno seed. May throw to avoid that.

A girls bball team with same name as disgraced Idaho congressman, who lost to Democrat Ricks proffeser barely Eastern part of Twin Falls county did that tried to Lose. Coach not happy.

Tommorrow school plays team south of American Falls. I won.t make it but will be on Idahosports to watch. Could meet up with them in tournament again.

I am not a fan of women's bball but those districts are starting right now. Can be decent games.

I saw that your girls beat up the team from the only sane community in Blaine County. Good for them! I don't think our girls will make it to State this season. I think we have the best two teams in the state at our division in our district. We play Sho-Ban on Saturday in the 2nd place game with the winner going to state and getting a first round matchup with Dietrich. Sho-Ban has played us 3 times already this year and beaten us by double digits each time. We were tied with them at halftime in the most recent game but we just don't have the scorers to be able to keep pace with them for 32 minutes and they pulled ahead and won by 10. They are about as good as a normal state championship caliber club from our size classification, unfortunately the Butt(e) Pirates are just so abnormally good. My prediction if Sho-Ban and Butte will meet for a 4th time in the State Championship game. Sho-Ban has, IMO, the best all around individual player in the state at our level. Her and her sister transferred to Sho-Ban from El Paso this past winter. They both start for the Lady Chiefs. She is a beast and you guys will have your hands full guarding her in your opening round game. Good luck up there and I hope we can get a miracle Saturday night and I get to join you in Boise next week, but I am not expecting it. Truth be told I think our squad is as good as anybody else that will be at State not named Butt(e) Pirates or Sho-Ban, but that is how the cookie crumbles. We should be really good the next two years.

As for the boys, Dietrich beat us pretty bad on Saturday again. But our All State caliber PG, and my exemplary HT companion, tore up his ACL, MCL and cracked his patela against the Butt(e) Pirates about 3 weeks ago. We have a great coach now with our boys who could establish a small town dynasty if we can keep him but without our PG we just are not the same team. He was our best player. With him I think we compete fairly well with Dietrich. I have no clue what Genesis Prep is bringing but I hate how the state chose to deal with the situation of small private schools. The point of the complaining was about the unfair competition that their resources and access to so many kids in major population centers, at least for Idaho, pose against the small public schools in small towns. So how does the state deal with the issue? Take some Trumpian Nativist approach and make all the 'ferners ineligible for post season play starting next year. Hey dipshits, we want kids from Rwanda or wherever else to come to the United States and participate in the American dream. What we don't want is some International religious boarding school of 60 to beat up Rockland and Dietrich in the State Tournament. Place those private schools at a level where their resources are a fairer competition - but alas. I do hope our boys can squeak by into state but our district tournament is a tough one to predict. We could win it all or finish 4th - without our PG I think the competition is that close. But I do hope to get to Boise to enjoy at least one state tourney and the boys are my better shot.

Anyone going to the games. I am heading up tommorrow but home after second game. Suggested dinner probably at fast food restaurant near Rocky Mountain High School. If that falls through would not mind meeting people Saturday after we play Boston Celtic basketball against chicken shit school. Bracket put us with them. Heard broadcasters talk of how they could compete at 3a have talent and go all the way to San Diego. Well they have some imports and people not quite 5a caliber. Why don,t they then. Maybe there dominance is over next year. Johnny Hillman makes noise.

East Jerome County beat an international school Riverstone. They may be effected by visa rules. Ambrose won and we beat Jr Simplots alma mater and East Jerome County by point, Simplots alma mater beat us down there. We also beat Ambrose and they are making noise. Maybe we can send that recruiting school a packing.
