I wasn't planning to attend, but now that you bring it up I might try to catch one of the games tomorrow night.

Your post prompted me to check out the 5A tournament bracket since I haven't really paid any attention to high school basketball this season (or most seasons, really). Neither my alma mater nor the high school my kids are slated to attend made it to the playoffs. Bummer.

We couldn,t quite get past that online Christian chicken shit of a school. Had bad quarter. Bracketed to play them 2nd round. Several of there guys fouled out. Some of our fans real vocal. Many said USA USA homegrown and on and on. Ad told Superintendents husband to tone it down. I didn,t help. Cheered for school on western border when played rival.

See people say kids deserve to play, wouldn't,t play them up. Our coach was classy said played by rules we couldn,t beat them. There coach who did not salute flag gave our coaches son card for recruiting. He is heading on mission. Four of our players are. One going to Russia. Rest putting papers in in coming months.

For online, charter, Christian and Charter schools some don't do shit in athletics, others compete at same level and others have advantage over schools there same size. Genesis Prep that way. Does cost money to go there.

Coaches son off mission helped this year. May go to c of I or Lcsc if he desires to play. We got 3rd stalled too early. Old fb coach said that. Then said reason he,s not on court.

We will have rebuilding year next year. 5 football spots. If we go to State will have tougher road. Maybe town of Jude May will get state championship and escorted back to town.

Jr,s alma mater got third. Indian res won it all. Lake of mean animals did it again against neighbor of tv inventor. Borderline Grizzlies beat east tof county team. Neighbor if HBl and etb undefeated this year. Good games. Rocky Mountain better location than Caldwell but I bet it goes back to Caldwell next year. East Blaine County barely won two games to get clobbered and town of Jude May barely missed consolation.

I went up with brother Friday and Saturday, listened to Chris Heinerdinger up there and back. Ate at Taco Bell. Heard good pizza place nearby. Saturday after game stopped in Ontario for lunch, at since put two types of candies in one bag, not supposed to do that but got treat. Went to Matt Paradis,s town then watched conference in Weiser. Forgot change of g,s and deodorant.

Bsu game may have been funnier to watch than State championship games. Missed it. Fun games to watch though.

That Olympus team was amazing this year. Pretty great that Springville got them last season.

Any of those Olympus kids have D1 offers?

Rylan Jones their PG is one of the top players in the state. He’s headed to Utah. His dad is Utah’s director of basketball
              Operations. Rylan can play.

Only the Jones kid that I know of. I’ve watched them play several times. You see them line up and they do t look like anything special. No one over 6’5”. A few pudgy white kids. Man, they can play. Everyone can shoot and they are well coached.

Yup. Harrison Creer -- fat kid who can guard anybody, score on anybody, and make shots from anywhere on the court.

Yep. Good kid, too. I went to college with his parents.

I had a blast up there Thursday through Saturday. I don't really care a great deal about the 4A and 5A tournament games unless there is some specific kid I want to watch but each year I try to get to some games at the 3A and under levels watching the small town kids that I am familiar with through track. This year I made it to 3 2A games, 3 3A games and 3 games at the 1A Division 2 level - I skipped 1A Division 1 as they were all the way out there in Caldwell and the other 3 divisions I cared about where played at Boise/Meridian HS that were 3-8 mile drives from each other. My beloved Dawgs did not play well on Thursday and got trounced but bounced back Friday and played about as well as we could given the injuries we have sustained this year while losing in OT by 2. We have a great coach if we can keep him.

Like Grape and many of the fans and players from the smallest level in Idaho, I also have a great deal of angst about Genesis Prep. When GP beat Dietrich on Friday afternoon there was nobody in the gym that wasn't cheering hard for one team or the other. GP brought their posse and then every other fan there was passionately behind Dietrich. It is a travesty that GP competes at this level in Idaho. It is fun to watch the frustration mount and how the state is going to deal with GP kicking the holy grail hornets nest of hoops state championships. As long as they are in that huge metro area and recruiting nationally no public team will be able to compete with them.

In any case a great ending to a great year of HS hoops. I can't wait for next year already! I am thinking I may still head to Boise for both the girls and boys tourney's even if my beloved Dawgs don't qualify. Our girls should next year but our boys will have a tough fight to get there next season. This year we were a bit lucky and we do lose our best player. But I am really impressed with our young coach so we shall see how he does with what he has next year.

Dietrich has been screwed the past two years with this GP juggernaut. It really is not a fair fight. I wonder how the other private schools in Idaho feel about GP because if something is not done the endstate of this is going to be a split with the private and charter schools out on their own. My guess is another year or two of GP running roughshod in the state tourney winning everything by 20+ points will result in the public small schools electing to not participate in IDHSAA events unless GP is gone. It could get ugly.

I think 1a will both be in Caldwell next year. Redoing gym in Caldwell this year. Location of Rocky Mountian high more convenient for some people I think. Though Caldwell gym I think has better seating. As a courtesy to the gateway to Hells canon fans and were Larry Craig spent some of his growing up years I thought I would go upstairs to nosebleed. Vallivue has seats like that. But not good place to watch or as good and the were a few seats down below.

I watched Friday and STirday 1a d 2 games. Some people donlt want to watch Jr Simplots alma mater, we only lost to them at there turf regular season. Beat them and East Jerome by a point. They did watch Trent Whtings coached team. Some may have wanted to watch East Jerome county. Proximity didn,t help.

Trent Whiting had player when slam dunk on in all star game last night. Napoleon dynamite high did not lose a game a d beat Trent Whiting. Chief Joseph his posterity won it all this year too. I enjoy watching them, local schools good to watch. Even without f1 visas Johnny Hillman who could of won it for Post Falls will be tough I think. They are always find to watch. Saturday in Idaho Center a blast usually though bracket and not seeds some preliminary games are more intense than state championship blowouts. People talk about seeding, that would be hard to do.

Andy Toolsons alma mater brought home some hardware, Lou Dobson and Uncle Teds alma mater didn,t make it this year. My dentist growing up bid Byu fan went to games and since many patients of his went to Elder Toolsons dad for braces had plenty of inside scoop of Byu athletics.

That rocky village south of Amerian Falls still has yet to win a state championship in anything. Eastern Blaine County beat them. Leighton Vandereschs town took ours down. There coach is quitting and there athletics won,t be jacks shit next year. Lou Dobbs and Uncle Teds alma mater still in for ladies.

Men's rebuilding year for us. Could go to state but talent not there. Sat behind parents that bitched about coach not taking his son out when he made mistake but took out there's. Never mind he was a klutz. Lost to team with same mascot as UW, barely just gave game away. Could come from behind. Sled dog football coaches son wears shoes that don,t match, throttled cougsdad neighbors who fought at sea. Maybe a comeback.

School last to Rocky Village boys did this year downer get two and a half teams from district this year. Kid transferred to Christian school made works ft. Cows we feed them fr padre that was ref. Dominant in our league. He is good player. Padre was ref before. Don,t know if I will go to boys state or not.

Interesting for state in Idaho this year.

Maybe Genesis Prep will not get boys state this year. As Christian School in town of deep throat and Dallin H Oaks early years is dominant this year. Transfer from Uncle Teds and Lou Dobbs alma mater helping them. As is nephew of Scotties. Our local school lost and finally for first time when it looked like The eastern portion of Blaine County would miss state, well did not happen. Triple overtime game our school lost agonist town of dairy spy gate. And East Blaine county came back and got too tournament.

Sled dogs barely lost to village of Rocks. Fb coaches son who went to Montana with seniorita while back wears different color of shoes. So dawgs of Rocky village will be back. Private school to win it all this year. East Jerome County should be 2a but Aren,t will win it this year maybe. Won football, glad they did after David B Haighs alma mater lost to whitewater town on purpose in fb for seeding purposes. And central Idaho mining town knocked out of playoffs with same mascot as Ricks would be urinated over that. Good games this week.

We are in and the bracket looks favorable to get to Saturday before facing the winner of the two private schools. I have been working with your former football coach to get the private schools into their own classification. He is a good man.

I went to the Valley vs Oakley state championship game in 8 man last November. It was the best high school football game I ever watched. Really had a blast. I also enjoyed watching Scottie's kin take down Lighthouse Christian the night before. Great year for Carey- boys and girls bring home a title and all 4 teams sports made the state tourney- although my beloved Dawgs sent them home in volleyball for our first ever win at the State Volleyball Tourney!

Games are great but really looking forward to brunch at Yo Mammas and some chow at the Bodacious Pig!
