RSL WINS not win. Robbie Findley is fast, he doesn't have great pace. The team plays on a field, not a pitch.
Rant over.
Great game last night. If RSL gets just one goal @ Saprissa, that should pretty much do it as Saprissa would then need to score 4 to advance. Even still, I like our chances.

Real, Sporting, United, FC. The wannabe Euro bullshit just drives some people away.
The most ridiculous and inexplicable use is "Real". Really? Did you REALLY get a "charter" from the Monarch? Are you really Royal? So, so, so, so....sooooo stupid.
Stinking ridiculous and I hope as this club grows that it eventually drops the idiotic "Real" tag.
I suppose if I knew nothing of La Liga and Spain, it wouldn't bother me so much.

This run in the Champions League has gotten my attention.
I'm sure I'll be viewed as a bandwagoner, but I'm not. I was skeptical about the product. I believed it was a tempest in a teapot. However, Salt Lake (I still refuse to attach the absurd Real title to a startup team outside of Spain with no connection to the Spanish crown) has shown they can play on an international stage.
I'm impressed.
I'm genuinely interested in the upcoming showdown with Monterrey and, hopefully, an appearance of SL in the Club World Cup. It will be fun to see an MLS team against giants of the world. Even moreso a team from my home state and town.
It is stuff like this that builds lasting fan bases, wins respect of soccer fans locally and world wide and creates some genuine interest.
I dream that someday an MLS team can compete in the Club World Cup and go toe to toe with and beat the giants of soccer.

Also, this relationship basically just establishes RSL as REAL Madrid's bitch. I'd just as soon they grow their image without the name. So, no...it doesn't change my opinion at all. The relationship could exist without the nonsensical name.
The name is ridiculous. I have a difficult time watching the boys strap on their boots, throw on their kits, hit the pitch and, with their best pace, win a match in the name of the Monarcy of Spain.Last edited by Portland Ute; 04-14-2011, 09:06 AM.

There's really no way to change that unless you have "reunion" teams and bring back the players that were on the rosters during the seasons in which they qualified. That would be a mess.

Bought my tickets for the second leg of the Champions league final. I am stoked. One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

I'm getting really excited for tomorrow night. If we can come back for the 2nd leg down a goal or better, I really like our chances."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay
