Seriously, she's embarrassing herself more than she is her husband.

He says that "The only way to change that is to put a face to it, which my wife made the hard decision to do."

Bless 'em both, and I hope they work through this, but I couldn't disagree more with the premise.
Interesting that he says his wife made the decision, not both of them. It is his sin, not hers. It should probably be his decision. Apparently it makes her feel better to tell others what her husband did.

Good luck, Anonymous Bethany in Arizona and good luck Anonymous porn-addict husband most likely working at Big 4 accounting firm in Phoenix, married to a woman named Bethany and has 4 kids. Hopefully, putting a face to this will prove admirable to your employers and will accelerate your career advancement.

No kidding! How many 31 year-old strawberry-blonde legal assistant Mormon women with 3 kids named Bethany can there possibly be in Mesa?

For what it is worth, a family member was exed (or disfellowshipped? I can't remember) over stuff similar to this.

It started out with the pr0n but ended up with he and a work buddy getting blowjobs from 'exotic dancers' on a fairly regular basis. He had to go through some serious counseling and therapy. Apparently the therapy is psychologically more intense than drug rehab (but without the physical/pharmacological aspects).

Part of the rehab was he had to tell everybody in the family that he was exed, what he did (minus the details), etc. He still went to church every week and did everything, but was no longer a member.

After he was 'sober' for a few years he got his wife a boob job. I think that solved all of the remaining problems.

So, I wonder out loud but thinking rhetorically, how many of these 'problems' could be eliminated by having our wives learn to give a proper blowjob?

I find that blog, and that post, downright appalling.

How dissimilar to two things have to be before they can no longer be connected so off-handedly? I imagine he also told some lies or maybe shopped on the sabbath even before he first looked at porn. Maybe one of those things caused the blow jobs?

The night he told me about his addiction, I called my mom. We ended up telling his family, and eventually, we knew we’d have to tell close family and friends.
It's already out there. Why the need to tell everyone?

To sort of echo what has already been said, what kind of C word takes it upon herself to pick up the phone and spill their deepest personal shit to everyone within earshot:

"The night he told me about his addiction, I called my mom. We ended up telling his family, and eventually, we knew we’d have to tell close family and friends."

Bitch, STFU. Way to make the Holidays extra comfortable.

                      On the other hand:

" There is a stigma attached to a man who struggles with pornography addiction. People think they’re weirdoes or perverts. I want to change that perception."

Okay, great sentiment. Why don't you start with yourself?*

*In all fairness, maybe he was banging midget amputees or something and she was heavily traumatized to the point where she became afflicted with some grievous form of Tourettes' that makes you compulsively share embarrassing, intimate, boundary-crossing information with valued acquaintances.

                        I am still laughing.

Horrible blog, that guy must suffer from some serious self-loathing to go along with all this. Repentance is one thing, but having this all aired to family, friend, and everyone with a computer is a bit much.

While many may be rightfully disturbed by the blog, the vulgarity is not at all appropriate here. Let's keep it under control.

                            Yikes!

I'm sure there is some segment of LDS women who need this kind of reassurance that they are not the only ones in porn-filled marraiges, but holy smokes there are better ways of going about it than this.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

The women of the church have just as much of a problem with porn as the men. It's just a very different sort of problem. Forget what she wanted or her level of forgiveness; I would have dropped her like a hot potato on the spot for that abomination.

Man. How embarrassing. The blog, the story, the reaction. Everything. That whole thing made me feel awkward and uncomfortable, like the way a horrible musical number does.

I have to believe that there were additional things going on to warrant an excommunication. I refuse to believe otherwise for my own sanity.
