Got the news today that Netflix pricing has changed. Now separating streaming from dvd's. Unlimited streaming remains at $7.99/month. Unlimited dvd's one at a time is now an additional $7.99/month +$2 month for blu-ray. So my plan changed to $18/month. I just canceled the dvd plan and will just use redbox for my dvd needs.

I'm guessing this is Netlix's way of showing that they will either get out of the dvd game altogether, or users will be paying all of the huge postage costs. So far most of my friends have opted out of the dvd part of the package.

      Great news for Redbox.

      I don't think I've gotten a DVD from Netflix for a year.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I see a ton of people that are losing their shit because of these price increases.

I guess I understand it, but I don't feel that way at all. I'm on the 2-at-a-time plan, and I'll be spending $5 more a month. Yes, I could find a better use for $60 instead of spending it on something I currently receive, but nothing comes close to the service Netflix provides. No one else has the combination of selection, convenience, and price that Netflix offers, even after the increase. Maybe I'm unique because I go through roughly 12 DVD's a month. I don't know.

Ditto. Just changed my plan to streaming only now and if I need to see something on DVD I'll drop the buck at RedBox.

FTR, I don't really have an issue with Netflix doing this. Like you, I think it was a deliberate attempt to push everyone to streaming only. Now, when they change streaming content prices I'll pitch a fit.

I'm not upset, it just doesn't make any sense for me to spend $120/year on a dvd plan when I've had The Social Network sitting on my counter for over a month.

Ditto. Netflix is still a great value for the number/variety of movies my wife and I watch.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

                Harold & Maude

It's one of my all time favorite movies.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

I'm glad someone else has turned on to this. I just watched "The Final Countdown" episode from series 4 for like the 10th time tonight. Matt Berry's character kills me. I heard they have started filming the 5th series.

Heard an awesome rumor that The Wonder Years is now available to stream on Netflix. I need to get on that. Love that show.

Very cool. I've always been bummed that it seems destined to never get a DVD release because of the music.
