It's the NBA director of scouting, not just a Knicks' scout. I don't think you're going to see teams' scouts be upfront with their opinions on players at this point, pre-draft.
If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

        • BYU Magazine had a nice article and pullout poster of Jimmer in their latest issue. I took it to work and hung it on a wall.

            http://www.iamagm.com/news/2011/06/0....his.webisodes

Sports Illustrated has signed a deal with Jimmer Fredette to syndicate his 'webisodes' of him leading up to the NBA draft. These 'webisodes' chronicle him and his path to the NBA. They will be from 2-4 minutes long, and a longer documentary is being planned, to be released after the draft.

I don't recall Sports Illustrated doing something similar for Andrew Bogut. Does the LDS Church own SI like it does KSL? It is unfortunate that all these mormon owned media parts show such an intense bias.

Bogut's greatness spoke for itself. No forum was needed.

On a serious note, Jimmer is somewhat of a media dream. He is not thought to be a spectacular athlete. He is a good natured gracious kid from a blue collar small town. The perception is that he is what he is because he developed unbelievable offensive skills and unlimited range on his j. It just seems that part of his allure is that he is normal and that his accomplishments are something more people could accomplish if they put in the work. I think it makes him more approachable and somebody with which more people can identify than the typical NBA star who just has ungawdly natural talent.

Saying that I think the Jimmer is a much better athlete than many realize.

I think people like Jimmer because he looks like a guy that could be playing in a pick up game near you at the local community college. Plus, he's a good guy with a great background like you said. In a lot of ways he's a David vs Goliath, and we Americans like those stories.

They are actually pretty decent. Also SI has interviewed Jimmer again and it will be in this weeks issue.

Can't blame him for being scared of being shown up by Bogut.

                          • A concensus National Player of the Year, 1st team All American, and leading scorer in the NCAA just finished an unbelievable career playing basketball for my alma mater.

Sometimes I still can't believe it.

I think the kid was the most dominating BYU athlete I have watched from the game against U of A, his junior year, forward. It was really fun following the kid and watching him play. That SDSU game in the MC this past year will likely be one of my favorite sporting events attended in person.

I think it was also one of BJ Armstrong's favorite games that he has scouted. I've never seen a scout at a game react with so many smiles and head shakes as Armstrong did that game.
