  • Jamocan meh crazy, mon!

I dedicate this thread to all those fast-food items we love. Sure, there is a lot of nasty fast food out there--stuff we wouldn't eat unless faced with a Donner-sized crisis (or at least we wouldn't openly admit to eating or liking). But hidden amongst the disgusting and the grotesque are some culinary gems which make me thankful for fast food. Yes, every once in a while a fast food place stumbles upon a recipe that isn't merely "good, for fast food," but just plain good. And it doesn't hurt that it's on the cheap. Here's to you.

My quick list, in no particular order:

    1) Jamoca Shake (Arby's)
    2) Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki (Subway)
    3) Curly Fries, with Buttermilk Ranch Dip (Jack in the Crack)
    4) Crispy Fish Taco (Del Taco)
    5) Chicken Fingers (Raising Cane's)
    6) French Fries (McDonald's)
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I am a Del Taco enthusiast but I can't do the crispy fish taco. Ditto on 1 and 2, though.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I'm a sucker for Arby's beef n cheddar. Fairly nasty concoctions, but I keep coming back for more.

It's no Rubio's fish taco, but then, what else is?

I realize this is food porn and that I will likely be criticized and ridiculed, but I will defend myself against the haters. I have sick love of chili cheese dogs and chili cheese fries from Wienerschnitzel. I am convinced there is some sort of addictive chemical placed in the chili that forces you to crave it fortnightly, but sadly I do not get to partake fortnightly. Damnit, I will stand up and be counted and say that I consider it good and not just good for fast food.

I don't care if the Jamoca shake is good, I will never eat at Arby's on principal alone. The same goes for Subway. I cannot support Jared Fogle and still sleep at night.

You should add to your Jack in the Box curly fries, which I agree are good, their delicious chicken strips. PAC will likely request that you get 2 tacos with it, but I cannot vouch for the tacos.

I actually enjoy the Rubios fresh-mex fish tacos. They are quite good and will not make me fatter than I currently am.

Is Weinerschnitzel still around? The only one I know of is on State Street in Orem.

I'm probably going to regret asking this but you have the funniest personal vendettas and I just gotta know...What did Jared Fogle do?

Tim got me hooked on Jdawgs. If you are in the area, just south of the BYU campus in an old rose shack.

                  I love those things.

I wasn't going to confess to my lunch-time sin, but I have a question. I went to the airport to greet my brother coming home from a mission today (else I won't see him until Thursday) and missed the Wendy's turnoff coming back so I stopped at Wienerschnitzel in my haste to return to the office quickly. What's up with their green-pepper-bright sweet pickle relish? I can't eat something with a color completely belying its taste.

I love them too, and they are better than Del Taco's, for sure. But Del's are cheaper, and more accessible, now that my office has moved away from Rubio's.

Does Rubio's taco also have breaded fish? There's just something wrong about breading something and putting it in a taco.

Just to be clear, by "ditto", I meant that I'm with you on 1 and 2. That teriyaki sandwich is the one thing I like at Subway.
