Hey all. I've been lurking and sporadically posting since April. I have been pretty busy over the past few months (finished up my thesis, got married, moved away) and never got around to officially introducing myself.

    How did you find CUF?
Strangely enough, I was taking a break from thesis work and somehow stumbled on a thread in the foyer about why men hate going to church.

What do you like about CUF?
The Foyer, Cougjunkie and SeattleUte, and that it’s not UF.N or CB.

How did you choose your moniker?
For some reason I felt compelled to immediately comment on something after I had been lurking for a month or so. I just came up with it without thinking much. If I were to do it over again I would have gone with something else but it would have been equally as lame.

What do you do (other than read CUF)?
Just finished up my thesis and I’m rediscovering my hobbies. I used to enjoy playing in bands but my hearing can’t take much more of it. I work in a psychiatric hospital and I am on the prowl for a career job in some sort of social science research.

How many States have you lived in?
    Utah, Wyoming, Virginia, and Nevada.

    What are your sports loyalties?
I’m actually not a huge fan of sports overall. I don’t have the time much anymore. Music and school used to take up most of my time. But I’m fanatical about college football. I would watch college football for 16 hours on Saturdays if the wife would let me. I’m first and foremost a BYU fan, followed by Utah State. Most of the time I just root against teams I feel are evil.

What's your standing in the church?
Reactivated about 3 years ago after 12 years away.

Do you pee in the sink?
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever peed in a sink before. Well, at least not a bathroom sink. I did pee in a bathtub once at a party but only because the person who used the toilet before me clogged it up. I wouldn’t pee in a sink, people brush their teeth there.

When your kids get older, will you do drugs with them in order to teach them a responsible approach to drugs?
It’s the responsible thing to do.

Are you looking forward to Wuap's welcome question and what do you think it will be?
I’m sure something abstract that will go way over my head.

Why are you so creepy? How long have you been lurking?
Since the day I discovered CUF. Being a lazy yet curious person, it’s what I do.

USU Coug, welcome to CUF. Please answer the following question, (you know the rest).

The Cougars have their Y on Wymount; Utah it's U up there in its eagle's nest perch on the mountain. A true Aggie is one who has been kissed on the A on either a full moon or homecoming. Utah State sits in the lovely-from-June-to-September high-altitude-living Cache Valley, home of several cheese making outfits who make cheese curd, or squeaky cheese. Cache Valley Cheese also has a squeaky-clean plant in the snicker-inducing town of Beaver, Utah. I once got kicked off a Greyhound bus at El Bambi restaurant in Beaver for getting very upset with a fellow passenger whose overindulgence in alcohol resulted in his fouling our mutual space. Bambi lost his mother at a tender age, but the meadow is a dangerous place, much like the now 80mph zone in Meadow, Utah on I-15. Ute Timpanogo chief, Colorow Ignacio Ouray Walkara, died in Meadow in 1855, after having been baptized in the LDS church and after having started the "Walker War" over apparently not being able to find a "Mormonee wife." One can understand the frustration. When he died in 1855, several horses and two of his wives, presumably American Indian wives, were killed and buried with him, despite rumors of his having been rebaptized in the LDS Church after the Walker War with Brigham Young's blessing. Brigham Young, founder of the U of U with its sprawling campus precariously perched on a mountain, must certainly feel conflicted in the CK when he has to choose between rooting for the Utes and rooting for the Cougars at the school that bears his name. Utah State remains the red-headed stepchild of the Utah university scene, despite its long history and solid reputation and numerous steps from the city up to Old Main. So, the question remains, why is every university in Utah built on a hill?

      1. You're in the right place, for sure.
      2. Ah...another musician. How refreshing. BTW, which hospital do you work in if you don't mind me asking?
      3. You can't make that claim without naming some teams.
      4. Interesting. Do tell more.

2 - I used to work at Logan Regional Hospital before I moved. Now I work part time at a psychiatric hospital in Vegas called the Seven Hills Psychiatric Institute.

3 - My list of evil teams is constantly changing. For the past 5 years or so it has been USC, Florida, teams from the SEC in general. This year my "evil" teams are Texas and Alabama. In the 90s I hated Nebraska and Miami. So basically any team that wins so much it gets old and boring, I view as evil.

4 - Maybe reactivation is the wrong word for it. I was only active when I was young and my parents made me go to church. By my senior year in high school, the combination of being stubborn, overly inquisitive (my Priest Quorum Leader's words), and having only non-member or jack-Mormon friends soured me on it all. I wavered between agnosticism and religious apathy for most of my 20s. I had 3 attempts of going active but it just wasn't cerebral enough for me and I never got the burning bosom confirmation. When I was 28 a friend of mine who had left the church told me about a couple of problems he had with church history. I was curious so I looked into it. The more I learned about all the "hidden history" of Mormonism the more I felt compelled to give it one more shot (oddly enough). That led me back.

Happy to have you aboard. I dated a girl that went to USU my freshman year of college. I really enjoy visiting Logan, and it seems like a decent enough school.

Dr. Wuap - you have outdone yourself on this one - outstanding!

When they condescendingly look down upon the rest of us from their ivory towers, they are able to literally believe they are on the higher moral ground.
