Good grief so many New Orleans threads. I'm here until tomorrow afternoon (first time visit). Meetings broke early this morning and I'm looking to score some brunch. Recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks for the recs. Pascal's was too far away for tonight. August was doable but couldn't get a table. We ended up going to Brennan's. My entre was pretty good but the bananas foster was ridic.
I also ended up in an average joint for brunch. Cafe Beignet. The Beignets were actually very good and they had some decent live music. But the cajun hash was very average. Going to try to get one of Wuap's po' boys at Crabby Jacks on the way out tomorrow.Last edited by Omaha 680; 01-21-2016, 06:47 PM.

Planning a trip to NOLA in 2 weeks with the family (8, 5, 3, 1). Are we crazy to go there during spring break (I assume it's spring break everywhere.. i dunno) with kids? We are actually staying in Slidell, not New Orleans, so I'm sure we will be away from the worst of the crazy stuff at night.
Soooo... family stuff to do in New Orleans? Best beach on the Mississippi coast?

The gator tour was fun and I'm sure they'll like it. The most enjoyable thing we did was take a tour of the French Quarter and a nearby cemetery, though your kids may lose interest in that quick.
If you hit the French Quarter, stay away from Bourbon Street. It was seedy when we went, I'm sure it's worse during Spring Break.
If you do spend some time in the French Quarter, go eat at the Court of Two Sisters. It has a lovely atmosphere at night. Go to Cafe du Monde at get the obligatory beignets. La Petite Grocerie was also very good, but it's in another part of town."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
