    Did his diabetes cause him to step down from the Jazz or was it another ailment?

        My understanding is that diabetes is what did it. So many other problems come from that awful disease.

            I don't want to be a jerk here and I wouldn't wish an amputation on anyone...

            BUT (you knew it was coming)...

            LHM is a Type 2 diabetic, the kind that obesity and bad lifestyle heavily contribute to. He's also filthy rich. I don't doubt that he's had plenty of doctors plead with him to control his diet and lose weight, both of which could have had a huge impact on his diabetes. He had the financial resources to hire a trainer, a dietician, anything to help him do it. It's sad, but he's not a completely innocent victim here.
            At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

                What's even worse, he won't be around another year.
