    Yeah, something like that.

I think I'll just go sit on the sidelines of this thread for a while.

    • My wife and I saw this on the Documentary Channel: http://www.generalbuttnakedmovie.com/

It is about an extremely brutal Liberian warlord that converts to Christianity and begins his own ministry. It is a thought-provoking film. Can someone who was guilty of so much evil truly repent? Has he really repented? Just how infinite is the Atonement?

The most powerful moment in the film is where the lone survivor of a family who was killed during the war forgave the former general for what he had done.

        • I watched Moneyball.

          Thought it sucked.

          My wife thought the same.

          • I saw Chronicle, and it was an enjoyable movie. I agree with Green Lantern that the actors did a really good job. The thing that overshadowed the movie, however, was the trailer for Act of Valor. I hadn't even heard of this movie before last night, but I'm definitely going to see it.

Because they're making the "active duty" angle the centerpiece of the marketing effort, is it safe to assume these guys were allowed to do this because the military sees it as a way of recruiting? Otherwise I can't imagine they would have found the time to do this.

I saw the trailer at a movie a couple weeks ago and for the first bit actually thought it was a military recruiting commercial. Casting active duty personnel is definitely an interesting angle.

                  • Watched A Dangerous Method, and was mostly convinced that I'm sick of Keira Knightley and that I might love Michael Fassbender. Also reminded that I miss my philosophy classes but I don't miss Freud. At all.

We saw this one as well. We enjoyed it but I think it mainly served to make me interested in reading more about that story.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

I looked on Wikipedia, and apparently, the project began as a recruitment commercial for the Naval Special Warfare Command. There weren't a lot of details on Wikipedia on how it changed to a film, but it looks like it will be a good movie.

                            • I just saw a documentary on "Red Tails" that George Lucas helped get made. It's called "Double Victory," and is showing on The History Channel. Watch for it. One of the most moving stories I have ever seen.

To honor the Tuskegee Airmen, George Lucas executive produced and financed the action-packed "Red Tails." But he didn't stop there.

The "Star Wars" creator also is the producer of "Double Victory," a documentary about the pioneering African-American aerial combat group that airs this weekend on the History Channel. It tells the story of their valiant efforts to fight the Nazis in Europe and their struggle against racism and segregation in their own country.

Cuba Gooding Jr., one of the stars of "Red Tails," narrates the documentary.
“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”
                              ― W.H. Auden

"God made the angels to show His splendour - as He made animals for innocence and plants for their simplicity. But men and women He made to serve Him wittily, in the tangle of their minds."

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."

What if I told you I'd already seen it, and it made me so sad for the state of the human race?
