Watched Trainspotting last night. I was surprised how much I ended up liking it. After the first few minutes I thought it would be one of those movies that everyone loves but that I could not relate to. I was happy I didn't give up on it.

Peculiar movie that I didn't care much for. One of the girls in it was Scottish and I don't think I understood a word she said the whole movie. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Katheryn Bigelow knows how to put together great action sequences. The scene where they raid the compound is incredible.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Zero Dark Thirty. Could have used some additional editing as it dragged in places, but still very good. Especially the last 45 minutes.
Way better than Argo and better than The Hurt Locker."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Also, why do you always avoid the actual threads for these movies. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Perks of Being a Wallflower. I had already heard good things about the movie but I was still pleasantly surprised. The acting by the three leads was phenomenal and I liked how the movie didn't go for "Everyman" characters that could represent the average high school experience. Instead the author created very specific characters with specific experiences and still managed to come up with something that taps into some universal themes.Last edited by Green Lantern; 04-01-2013, 09:14 AM.Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...
None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.
I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

The Tower Theater was showing the Buster Keaton film Our Hospitality so I took the kids. It's one of the greats. On the other end of the spectrum I also saw Spring Breakers. As mentioned by MG above, it's a kind of a fascinatingly bizarre movie. The actual "plot" isn't that far out there, but the levels of debauchery on screen, combined with some beautiful filmmaking and odd Terence Malick-type touches (frequent use of voiceover and flashback) make for a unique experience. I'm still not sure if the film has anything truly meaningful to say, but I'm glad I saw it. (Also, James Franco was fantastic.)Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...
