In fact, the entire thing feels very much like they gave the Disney Channel movie department a quadrupled budget allotment and let them go to work. Not a bad thing, but it's a far cry from the spectacle some would claim it to be.
I haven't seen it, but the rest of my family has. My kids put that soundtrack on repeat 7 days a week. I have to say I think the music is great. I know all the songs and can sing along with everyone else. Right now I've got "The Other Side" stuck in my head. Yesterday it was "Never Enough". The day before it was "Rewrite the Stars."

Right. Nobody is disputing that the soundtrack is catchy.

But I am disputing that they are in the "Disney made-for-TV movie" vein.

Of course, I am well aware of how you view things that are, to your mind, built up. Nothing is ever going to match that hype!

Have both of you seen enough Disney made-for-TV movies to make an authoritative judgement? I haven't so I'll defer.

I have, and I'm willing to bet that DH has seen even more than I have.

            • Is A Quiet Place a movie that a person who generally hates the horror genre would enjoy?

Yeah, it should have never got the horror tag. I almost didn't see it because of that. But took the kids and enjoyed it. It's in the same genre as M. Night Shyamalan or Hitchcock. Can't believe I just used those two in same sentence.

Yes, go see it. Very good film and very little 'horror'.

                          • I enjoyed A Quiet Place as the pacing, camera angles, themes, etc. were all very good. I was bothered by some plot holes, including the film's resolution, but they didn't ruin it for me. Emily Blunt was particularly good. It's funny that I was more frightened by a single nail than by the monsters.

The two movies couldn't be more different. One is about a big white oversized ape who wreaks havoc everywhere he goes. The other is based on a video game with the same name.
