I can't imagine how they think they are going to remake this. Oh well, I guess this happens to every generations classics.

It will be a complete and utter failure and those who are remaking it should never be allowed to make another movie ever again."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

I look at it now and laugh....most of those gang members look like they weigh around 140 pounds. And the thought of 10 guys running through Manhattan dressed as clowns in baseball uniforms is pretty hilarious.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

The best part is the singing at the end. Nothing creates a great beat like finger pop bottles. The man has a gift.

The premise: NYC gangs head up to the Bronx for a 5-borough meeting of all gangs. A truce is declared and there is to be no fighting during the secret meeting. Thousands of gang members descend on the Bronx.
In the middle of the meeting, Cyrus, the head of NYC's biggest gang, and also the MC for the night, is shot and killed.
The Warriors are mistakenly blamed for the murder. A bounty is put out on The Warriors. And they have to fight their way back all night through various parts of NYC to their home turf....Coney Island.
CAN YOU DIG IT!!!!!!!!
ps if you recall Shaq's "can you dig it" chants at lakers championship rallies....he gets it from The Warriors.
Go rent this movie and watch it.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Thanks, DDD, for the reminder about The Warriors. On the next CUF bike ride we should dress up as the Cycling Furies. Lycra and evil clown make up; half-Lance Armstrong, half-Gene Simmons. Beautiful.
BTW, here's a website that talks about all of the gangs in the movie. I kind of liked the Lizzies, the Boppers and the Hi-Hats.

I am not big on 80's cult classic movies. But after watching the 5 minute clip of The Furies, I am hooked. I will be watching this movie.
