By trying to buy all the better players in order to win, the Yankees are diluting the rest of the league and that is what is bad for baseball.
The capitalist in me has no problem with players getting as much as they can, but the baseball guy in me wants to see a balanced league in the talent department. This is one of the very, very rare times that I believe a salary cap is a good thing - the others would be the other professional team sport leagues, as in the NBA, the NFL, etc. I want to see talent parity in baseball.
Hopefully, Steinbrenner is one of the people involved with Madoff.
