Just like any common two bit wannabe dictator, Trump has trained his subjects to be loyal only to him and to distrust elections and democratically representative government in general. Pretty pathetic and actually disgusting.

There's a goof hashtag going on Twitter that they got going on Parler for a while, under the auspice that the GOP has F'd us over in not supporting Trump enough with the recount/election overturning, so therefore we're not supporting them. In fact, we're going to make history by getting Trump elected to TWO senate seats-- never been done! Therefore: #writeInTrumpInGA.

They got trounced nationally in the House, losing in basically every swing district and then some. They also lost in a bunch of important special elections as well, including even electing a democrat senator in Alabama. I think there might be something to the idea that a not insignificant portion of Trump's cult following doesn't care that much about elections where Trump isn't on the ballot.
2018 is when the suburbs turned on Trump. Thats what led to the blue wave not lack of MAGA turnout. The suburbs didn't come back to Trump in 2020 but plenty of people in the suburbs who voted Trump out also voted for Republicans down ballot (including in the Georgia senate races). Yeah there are plenty of dummies that are Trump zombies but I don't think this write-in movement is of any significance. Even Don Jr says its a dumb idea.

Maybe he's embarrassed because all/most of my election prognostications and projections came true and his (Trump's) didn't.

Can't stand Erick Erickson. He is one of the morons that got us into the mess that resulted in Trump. Did real damage to Romney in 2008 and 2012. Made several anti-Mormon attacks on Romney, including claiming in 2007 that Romney would use missionaries to campaign for him. Later tried to make amends by suggesting that Romney should jump into the race in 2016 to stop Trump, but ended up supporting, donating, and defending Trump after he was the nominee and throughout his presidency.

Everything Erickson said in that thread was correct, and well written ... but people shouldn't forget who he is. He should have been canceled years ago.

                          • The National Review has long been the journalistic vanguard of the Republican party. To their credit, they have forcefully denounced Trump's behavior. Given the current silence of most Republican leaders, I can only assume that the GOP more closely aligns with the journalistic leanings of NewsMax and OANN.

Erickson is a more sane Glen Beck. A vociferous anti-Trumper in 2016, then publicly supporting him just late last year (or even more recently, but I'm not 100% certain). If this isn't a reason to completely ignore him, remember his histrionics about why he finally decided why Trump just wasn't that bad and that he would vote for him: it was because of scary Biden. Biden! The most mainstream politician in the whole 2020 democratic field. Anyone who equates impending socialism with Biden shouldn't be taken seriously.
