On one hand you have Pete Carrol. The guys has done very well. He has beaten all of the top teams he has faced. He not only beats them but usually beats them soundly. He also has had a very strong showing in each of his Bowl games as well. With that he is a ESPN Media Darling with his greyish perfect hair.. BUT, He has lost (I think) 5 in a row to an unranked opponent each of the past 5 years..
Then you have Jim Tressel. He consistently wins games. He consistently has won teh Big Ten or a share of the title for the past 6 years. He has beaten Michigan 6-1 over the time he has been at Ohio State.. BUT, he is also 1-7 against top ranking opponents. He has lost the last 3 bowl games he has played in, and he is 4-4 overall in Bowl games...
