  • Anybody see Chambers' quote?

"It is just two games into the season," Chambers said. "We still got a lot more games to go, and we can win out, either way. Hey, it is not a conference game, so it is OK. They are an ACC school. They are supposed to win, so it happens."
WTF??? Why the hell do you even play the game then? My dad showed me this on his blackberry during stake conference this morning. I lost the Spirit because of it.

Seriously, between this quote, Jan saying they should have prepared for Ponder's running ability better, and Bronco saying they were not as prepared as they should have been I am fuming. :swear:

How do you let that attitude on the team? So Chambers were you supposed to fumble the ball right to them because they are an ACC team?

      Here's Jan's quote:

"I think we definitely could've prepared for Ponder a bit more than we did," Jorgensen said. "This is tough to take. I don't think anyone is happy with the way we played defensively. It's embarrassing, really."
How do you not prep for Ponder? Everyone in the country knows he's a threat to run.

This is at Bronco and Hill's feet. That is inexcusable. Especially at home. At the very least Bronco owned up to it:

"I was impressed through the week in FSU's athleticism," BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said. "But they were more physical than I expected today. ... Florida State was more prepared in general than we were tonight."
As I said before, I am not bailing on this team. I still think they win 10 games and can win the MWC. And being 2-1 at this point is a pretty big accomplishment IMO for this team. However, to hear this kind of stuff after this kind of loss is unsettling. We should never lose like we did. Especially at home.

Hey, winning the MWC and the Vegas bowl is a type of success. That's what I've been telling myself since last night, anyway.

I read Bronco saying his team was not prepared and decided he has some kind of career death wish. The guy is like a five year old; impossible to know what he is really thinking. There are infinite ways to be classy in defeat without saying you and your staff are just lazy.

Well it's not hard to fathom how Florida State was more prepared than we were. We actually prepared for our cupcake game instead of looking ahead to the one that mattered. (damn it)

I don't think any amount of preparation would have helped. Their o-line made our defense look like a high school team. You can't scheme for that.

But Oklahoma has more pro prospects on its team doesn't it? That is what is confusing.

Not on their o-line. They were breaking in a brand new line more or less, and we took advantage of it.

Yes, that was the key to the whole thing of course. But FSU could not run on Miami or Jax State. I am still totally baffled by the whole thing. Never did I think the team would show up that dead.

Whatever went wrong, we need to fix it, stat.
