  • Jake Heaps doesn't have it....

    some just don't have it.

I like the kid. He wears # 9 and is cocky. That is a good combo at the BYU.

Bad night. He didn't get help from his line or receivers early. I still really like what I saw. And all of the other BYU commits made my nipples hard. Stout and Fua played big. Bouterac did well too, except when Fua beat him off the edge. I really hope we land Kasen Williams. Pretty exceptional that BYU had 4 commits 1 other player interested playing tonight.

In truth he made more throws tonight that made me say wow than I think Max has made his career. That is not to say that Jake is a better qb, he is not but I believe the kid has spectacular physical skills. I also think he looked pretty poised given the circumstances. His team was pretty much him and Kasen, and I also think the OC is a far better coached team.

I think Jake Heaps will be good. Not next year, but if he starts next year and I think that is pretty likely as I think Mendenhall knows next year is going to be a pretty big rebuilding year so he will look to the future, but by his sophmore - junior year he is going to be a really good college qb.

I wasn't overly impressed with him. He played better as the game progressed, but Montana's kid is a better QB.

You sure can see a long ways off IPU.

Is Butorac the LT/NT not in? Last night during the game the announcers said he was.

Shoot. I had no idea Montanas kid was going to the U. Must be trying to exact revenge on Steve Young however he can. A bit over the top on the vindictive scale though.

Sizzle, you might want to start a Jake Heaps defenders club...

I am not worried about Heaps. Did anyone watch the Elite 11 feature that was on before the game? Heaps was MVP this summer. He may not be ready to go next year, but he's going to be a good one. I think this loss in many ways will help him develop that much more. And it's not like they lost to some lowly team. That OC team has talent, ridiculous amenities, and great coaching.

Montana had a nice game. The kid will be good for Sark and that program. I'll be following his development there with some interest. I really like him. At the Elite 11 camp he was one of the most consistent passers all week. But I'd still take Heaps over him.

No, he hasn't committed. And from what I read it doesn't look like BYU is pushing too hard for him anymore. But, that of course game from CB, so maybe Bronco is calling him everyday and he'll commit tomorrow.
