  • Oak Christian vs. Skyline

I had a quick "vacation" night in Seattle last night. This morning as I was grabbing some breakfast in the hotel I noticed quite a few Poly's down eating also. One was wearing a OC t-shirt. We chatted for a few minutes. I guess a lot of the LDS OC families decided to stay in a Marriott. This paticular group was the parents and uncles of Fua and a junior strong safety that I don't remember the name of. Anyway, we chatted a few minutes about Heaps vs. Montana, Stout and Fua. One interesting tidbit was that if Sione Fua had stayed out on his mission for longer than 18 months he would most likely be at BYU right now. They also said Heaps in more popular on the OC team than Montana is. I thought that was kind of interesting. They gave me the impression that Montana kind of big times everyone.

I wish I could have stayed for the game tonight. They had an extra ticket and this game has been sold out for a while. Should be fun to watch.

So far Skyline looks overmatched. Heaps has two pass attempts one a dump off to a running back that was dropped, the other an underthrown ball that was picked.

Alani Fua blew up Jase Butorac (another BYU recruit) on the first play of the game and drilled Heaps forcing a fumble. Fua also just caught a td pass.

Skyline is in danger of getting blown out.

heaps looks like a scared piece of poo. if Oaks Christian spooks him out at home, he won't be able to handle the friendly confines of RES.

Who was Heaps passing to on that incompletion downfield? Was it a busted route? NObody was even close.

Yep, Skyline is getting physically dominated. The Oaks Christian guys just look bigger and stronger.

Heaps doesn't look very good so far, but I love how Stout and Fua are looking.

          Fua looks rad.

Heaps finally connects on that 3rd down. Maybe the kid will show some life.

These nationally ranked teams.....there is CA, FL, and TX....and then there is everyone else. This Skyline team....how can they be so good? Their o-line sucks and they can't take care of the ball.

The FSU color scheme is making me sick.

Skylines runningback sucks, 3 drops and a fumble.

Fua has 3 forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks. Like DDD said if he can put on 20 pounds of muscle at BYU (which he will over time, if he was going to Utah it would only take 3 weeks) he is going to be a beast.

Kelly Heaps doesn't seem like a Mormon mom at all.

Why don't we hear more players' moms use the term "kindred spirits?"

Also, I am not sure I want my high school son to be kindred spirits with some random grown man....

1st half: Fua, 1.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 receiving touchdowns.

Heaps is looking a lot better when he has some time.

That deep ball off his back foot by Montana was sick.

Kasen Williams is the best player on the field.

I agree. Williams and Heaps are all Skyline has. OC has a slew of good football players.

How long does Williams continue to list BYU on his schools of interest? He would be an unbelievable get. He looks like a USC receiver today.
