  • Las Vegas Sports Consultants Week 3 poll

Very surprised to see Notre Dame where they are still. I guess Vegas loves the Irish as well.

Interesting that FSU's not even in the top 40, yet we're only favored by 7 at home, implying Vegas believes we only have a 3.5 point difference on neutral field. I don't know what to make of that. We really ought to be 10+ point favorites.

Grab some action on that before the line changes.

Yes, it's a sin. But all sins are pretty much equal and we shouldn't stress out so much about sinning anyway.

A little touchy there? I know people don't like being called a sinner. Sorry, I really don't mean it that way. I celebrate being a sinner.

Right, it could be that relative to the overall rankings, Vegas doesn't think BYU matches up well with Florida state. OF course, there may be a "big team" bias in the betting as well.

Oh no. I am a Jay Santos fan. I was trying to make a funny.

OK, good. For the record, I would not bat an eyelash at putting down some money on the game, morally. But after all the analysis I've done, and I've done a lot, the only real outcome I have for it is a belief in efficient markets in Vegas lines. Sigh. I'd love to say there's money to be made, but I don't think there is, and I'm very cynical of hearing someone makes money betting on sports. Just as cynical as I am of FM's day trading.

I really wonder if Bowden/Billy Bob-what's-his-name & Co spent about 20 mins on Tallahassee State and the rest of the week on BYU. Almost burned them, but probably smart planning.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah
