Herbstreit was the same way in 2004 when people wanted to see someone "bust" the BCS, but last year he was just the opposite and said mid-majors couldn't compete. I wish the dude would stop following the popular opinion and come up with his own material.
The SUGAR BOWL helped change a lot of perceptions. BYU needs to carry that torch.
The Sugar Bowl was irrelevant.

It'll be interesting to see how Herbie's promotion of the Y and other non-BCS goes over the season. If Oklahoma ends up as a 4 loss team, I have to wonder if he might recant a little. I hope he doesn't, but I can see it.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Perhaps, but the MWC has made some waves. TCU has some good wins, Utah has a great win and 2 BCS bowls, BYU has a very good win. The conference has gotten back the traction they had when it first formed and BYU, Utah and CSU were all top 25.
Hopefully this time they don't all poop the bed at once and fall off the map for 3 years, like 2000, 01, 02 and 03. I know Utah was good in 03 and BYU had a good record in 01, but those teams didn't do anything to make anyone nationally take notice.
