If Urban would have stayed at Utah, would they have a National Championship? I think there is a good chance they would. The 2004 team had amazing chemistry. Utah would have continued to improve and would have started higher in the rankings last year. I believe they would have at least been in the NC game between 2004-2008.

I'm of the belief that a non-BCS team will ever be allowed to play for the fake championship; however it's fun to speculate that without the depletion of the coaching staff, the Utes may have maintained their level of play from '04 and perhaps would have crashed the BCS again before '08, which may have forced the BCS to reconsider which teams would play for it's championship.
How would Meyer's staying had affected BYU? It's most likely that Whittingham would be the coach."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

The media loves Meyer. Utah might have jumped to a BCS conference by now.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostI'm of the belief that a non-BCS team will ever be allowed to play for the fake championship; however it's fun to speculate that without the depletion of the coaching staff, the Utes may have maintained their level of play from '04 and perhaps would have crashed the BCS again before '08, which may have forced the BCS to reconsider which teams would play for it's championship.

Whittingham would have probably gone to BYU. I wonder if Gary Anderson would have stayed at Utah or followed Whittingham to BYU. Also, what about the other former BYU players on the Utah staff?
Bronco most likely would have gone to UNLV with Sanford. I wonder how that would have worked out.Just try it once. One beer or one cigarette or one porno movie won't hurt. - Dallin H. Oaks

Lot's of interesting outcomes had Rban stayed Urban.
I think my kid would have been able to easily get a hit off of his kid because his boy would not know how to throw a curveball."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

He would have at least recruited while he was here...which would've been nice.
I wonder if we would've seen Alex Smith and Steve Savoy stick around. I know there were issues with grades for Savoy, but perhaps those don't happen without a lame-duck coach."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Going 12-0 and finishing 4th in the Heisman voting would've been the peak for Alex at Utah. That, and already graduating, were big enough factors to leave early before knowing he'd have to adjust to a new coaching staff.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostHe would have at least recruited while he was here...which would've been nice.

I wondered the same thing about Savoy, but I'm sure he saw the writing on the wall.
One positive to Urban not staying at Utah: we didn't have to put up with Josh Portis."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

True. If Josh Portis comes, who knows what happens with Brian Johnson.Originally posted by BoylenOver View PostGoing 12-0 and finishing 4th in the Heisman voting would've been the peak for Alex at Utah.
