Mrs SMR is going to one of those Messiah sing along things tonight, so I was thinking about taking the kids (ages 7 and 9) to a movie. Is Bolt worth seeing?
It was cute. We saw it in 3D and I don't think it was worth the extra money and headache. If I had to go again, I'd just see the 2D one.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

I was leaning towards seeing it regardless of what was said on here - this seals it as long as marsupial confirms that her kids weren't traumatized by the movie.

No more traumatized than they are every day living with danimal and me.

Although it is not a Pixar flick, it is the same quality. The story is great, you will get some good laughs out of it, even as an adult (the scene where they are begging for food....the cat takes a stab at begging....lol...that was so dang funny).
My kids just turned 4 this week. My one daughter was scared by 1 scene at the very end.....a doctor has a needle. If your kiddoes are sensitive, then you may want to beware.
Our kids watch lots of rated R movies, so Bolt was pretty tame for them.
Our kids loved the 3D aspect of it, so that is a toss-up. they still have the glasses and wear them around the house sometimes.

What rated R movies do your kids watch?

Y Tu Mama Tambien, Boogie Knights, Saving Private Ryan.
We feel that since the violence and sex in these movies is realistic to the time period, that it is ok for our kids to watch it.
Good point. After all, it was the lack of realism that kept me from letting my son see The Dark Knight.
